...In the OHL http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2802292 Well, I think he's going to get taken first or second in the draft after this.

They did the Rat Attacks in Florida for the playoffs or sometimes for big regular season games. Florida isnt in the playoffs enough to have traditions. Nashville is.
-
Catfish is popular in the south, so maybe to show southern pride or something they chose Catfish to throw. Also, its possible that since the team is named after a sabertoothed-CAT fossil found in Nashville someone decided to throw a CATfish. I can understand the rubber rat throwing in Sunrise but this seems like copying us.

He's a solid second line player. Its a bad thing to take too many stupid shots, yeah, but he would be one of our teams top scorers if he hadn't missed all that time. Also, if given the right line those shots can be golden, but given a bad line (Williams/Dats/Sammy) it won't work. Same with any other player.

Edmonton didn't upset me because I had seen it coming from the deadline after they aquired Roloson. The Ducks would have to be the most upsetting, the fact that most of their team played horrible with the exception of their goalie was terrible.

Oh wow, Bertuzzi may have to switch numbers next season
-
Sounds like the Flyers suck at ping-pong too.
-
You're joking, right? He was placed on waivers and claimed by Boston last week. The future is Howard, that's what the Wing's management and coaches have been counting on. As for next year, barring a cup win (Hasek would probably like to retire on a good note) it could be Hasek back in net. If not, we would sign another free agent to a one year deal with incentives.
-
Theres gotta be something wrong with the scheduling when two years in a row your first game after the trade deadine is against the same team. Nice stop by Hasek.
-
Kyle Calder. Just like Cory Cross. On the same team. Interesting.

I don't know about paycuts, but I know of a guy (who I think might be the only one) who won a major trophy in the final year of his contract and didn't ask for more. Nick Lidstrom
-
Where did all the Norton hate come from? Norton played much better than Bootland did in the preseason, and I can recall many threads with people asking for Holland to call Booter up.

Obviously Osgood was better ten years ago and he seems to be slipping now but he's still not a bad goalie. He has bad nights (especially against Edmonton, which is why I guess he didn't go last night) but he has good nights, too. We still have one of the best backups in the league and could be much worse off in that regard.
-
Maybe not this year, but if they play like they have since their new coach took over I'm sure they'll be back to the postseason in no time. Legace might even play better, considering there's less pressure on him in St. Louis and he probably learned his lesson in Detroit.

The problem is that we're a one-line team. When Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom are the only ones producing we should be losing unless we're facing a weaker team. Babcock needs to juggle the lines or dump Williams and move Cleary (Absent tonight) down. He also needs to give the Hudler/Flippula/Langfeld line more time or move them around. Hopefully, once Samuelsson comes back our lower lines can start producing again.

Bahhhh, stupid CBC. Who seriously wants to watch two teams that haven't won a cup in about fortyish years suck it out when Buffalo and Ottawa are playing?
-
Joey either played suprisingly well or terribly bad (find it odd that his one win was his worst game in terms of stats). With a bit more development he wouldn't have made a bad back-up and I could see him one day being the starter for a struggling bottom-feeder somewhere.

I don't like the possibility of playing either the WIld or Calgary. The Wild have an unproven young goalie and a team very similar to what we've lost to every year since '02. Calgary is far away and the Wings don't play too well on the western coast (especially when that coast is in Canada). That said, I like the Sharks less. They play on the Western coast and had a huge season last year. Once again they have an unproven goalie that could stand on his head (Toskala, although Nabakov is just as capable) and help a decent team in front of them. What scares me more is that they seem to run us every time we play. As for Dallas, you can't be sure it's going to be Turco in net for the entirety of the first round. Smith has played incredible and really brings something out of that team (Last years 6-3 loss, anybody?). They made a big trade for Nagy and that could help them as well. Given a choice, I'd take a Turco-manned Dallas or Calgary.

This suprised me, especially after what happend during our first game against Nashville this season. Then again, Osgood doesn't seem to play well against Edmonton so maybe it's all for the better.
-
Those commercials probably aren't promoting the game too much, but they are funny.

I don't see the Preds heading anywhere better than where they are now if they're forced to leave. That said, I hope they do leave or Leipold tries to bail on the ownership. That can't be too far-fetched, I'm sure there are plenty of people who didn't enjoy their tax money being used for a franchise they cared nothing about. I never knew how bad the situation in Nashville was in and reading that Strachan article really shows that the Preds have done nothing but take money instead of improve the league, the city, or the game.
-
I don't know why you all insist the Blues suck. If Andy Murray had been their coach at the start of the year they'd be occupying a low playoff seed right about now instead of being a bottom-feeder.

The NHL should schedule the All-Star game on either the saturday or sunday between the NFC and AFC Championships and Super Bowl in the NFL. The rights extension was a brilliant move by Comcast (destroyers of such great things as Tech TV) and will help Versus get on more networks in the states, it was not a smart move by the league though.

Liv's stats are much worse than Howard's down in Grand Rapids. Liv let in five goals on 19 shots the other night and has let in twenty-two goals total over the 7 games he played. They're both still struggling though.

With his performance tonight (Got a shutout even though he faced 40+ shots) I think that this rumor is dead. Not that that i thought it could happen in the first place.
