Illitch loves the Wings, he does want a new building to put his crown in, seeing what he has done for this team and for the Tigers I would think everyone would trust he is smart enough and has enough passion about the organization to do it at the "RIGHT" time. It's not really a question of "WILL" it happen it's a question of "WHEN". He's not stupid, I'm sure he is working on something and the timing will be "right" for the situation. I'm also certain we will all be around to see it. What a day that will be because I'm sure it will be first class.

I agree he fits in a system with less "talent" around him. He obviously has the skill and would contribute, but we don't need to pay that kind if money for what we would get. Which in our system wouldn't be enough to justify what we pay for him. PRE cap yes he would be an attraction, put butts in seats, and sell merch. so it would be worth it. Pre-Cap: yeah sure Now: nope, unless he agreed to play for a lot less, why would he? He's the big fish in that little pond.

What's too bad is most people will just run him down for having a GAA of 4.03 and 6.77 in the last two games he played in that series. His sv% was also .857 and .786 in those two games. You get shelled that bad two games in a row and have a good backup, you are out. Too bad for him, I would like to have seen him between the pipes in those last few games to take the cup.

I don't have to, the coach pulled him for the ENTIRE remainder of the playoffs. I'm PRETTY sure MB knows a little more about what is going on than we do in that particular case. MY proof would be if was up to the task, MB would have let him play. Don't give me s*** about Ozzy, everyone knew Hasek just didn't have that kind of post season netminding left in him. Otherwise...he would have been put back in.

Really why would you let this bother you?? I don't get "THAT". Would you rather watch the Wings a)Win the cup or b)Lose the cup and be in a lot of commercials?? There are more important things to focus on, IMO. I'll take where we sit and be happy. Oh, most fans of other teams will tell you the Wings get MORE than their fair share of attention by the media. That is ALL I have been trying to say. It seems, however, to be a really tough pill for some people to swallow. A lot of people just want to jump on the bandwagon and place blame on an easy target where they don't have to think, or admit how bad our offense was during those years in the post season. I don't think Cujo belongs here now but it's tough for me think (him being one of my favorite players) that our ALL STAR squad couldn't step up and get it in the net a few more times like they did this year. We got the Cup, we have Ozzie back (who I also said many many years ago we should have never traded, cough cough) so life is good!

I was thinking the same thing. An interview with his agent on TSN said he had like 9 offers on the table and he hasn't thrown any team out yet. I think he is in the position to take his time since he doesn't exactly need to go to a team who is in a hurry to rebuild around someone. I'm sure he will go where HE thinks he has the best chance to get a ring.

Tells me the team we had on the ice that season, WITH A LOT MORE TALENT THAN THE FLAMES, needs to share in that blame for not scoring. We were paying a lot of stars a LOT of money to score goals and couldn't do it. Game, after game, after game. But blame it on Cujo...cause that's easier than admitting (add your favorite player from that year here) should share in the blame for not producing offense that the team this year managed to do under a salary cap no less.

Games where the Wings did NOT outshoot their opposition... 0-1, Ozzy was 1-0. It's funny how you compare the games as CUJO lost games where the wings offense couldn't score in ONE goal tight games. All your stats show is the wings, even in the cujo era, could outshoot their opponent. The DIFFERENCE is...they scored the goals this year, A LOT MORE OF THEM. That's what I'm trying to say. You basically say Ozzy can win games when the Wings score so many goals and that makes hiim a better goalie??? WOW, good call. I understand Ozzie stole a couple of them, but there is no excuse for the Wings not winning the rest of those games, which still would have made the difference. Try to realize our offense was to blame then in almost all of those games, especially given the talent we put on the ice. I think Ozzie is a better goalie but you guys need to wake up and realize Cujo did NOT lose those series, the Wings underperformed. (Team sport and all)

Dude all I'm trying to say is Cujo kept those games CLOSE (allowing only one or two goals in MOST of them) With the talent we had then there is no excuse for us being shut out or losing that MANY close games that MANY times. Ozzy allowed 9 goals in the 4 game Co. series alone. Guess what...the Wings scored over 20! Nashville series...17 goals! Dallas series...17 goals! Finals...17 goals! This post season our offense showed up and made some noise, wow it paid off! How crazy ironic?!?! For someone to say the goalie is the sole reason we couldn't close the deal...just shows you aren't paying close attention to what we do when we actually win those series. How many cups does the "ELITE" Kipper have again?!?!
