    Darren Helm?

I'm not entirely sure if this has ever been addressed, or if anyone ever noticed... But I'm quickly becoming a fan of Darren Helms, and as I was searching through the Detroit Red Wings Official Website, I decided I would go and read up on Darren Helm a little bit. Figured, if anything I could see some cool pictures of him or something interesting about him. Anyway, I ventured off to their "Roster" section of the website, and was unable to find him listed. I figured, maybe since he only played in the playoffs, he would still be considered a "prospect". So I then headed over to the prospects section of the website, and he was still not listed. Just wondering if there was any particular reason, maybe they just forgot? Or, maybe I'm just extremely blind and keep skipping over it??? And if they forgot, is there anyway we can email someone to add him? I feel he deserves to be listed as part of the team on their own official website! Oh, and by the way, for any of you who attended the parade/rally, I hope your skin isn't as burnt as mine...but it's totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Darren Helm?

I would like to see him on the roster too! But out of curiosity, why isn't he even listed as a prospect?

Franzen cleared to practice FULL OUT

I'm so happy to hear that Franzen will be better and ready to go for the Finals. My only question, and I know it seems dumb to ask, but will Babcock honestly put him into the lineup? He's been all about leaving the lineup the way it has been when they're winning. I mean he was going to sit Maltby when he was healthy, and when Franzen got hurt, he inserted him into the lineup. And now Chelios is ready to go, but Lilja is playing. Personally, I hope he changes his mind and sticks in Franzen, it'll make us that much more of a threat! What does everyone else think?

    2002 Stanley cup?

I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but this year reminds me so much of when the wings won the cup in 2002. Lidstrom scores a goal from center ice against Vancouver in Round 1 - Lidstrom scores a goal from center ice against Nashville in Round 1. Wings beat the Avs in game 7, 7-0 eliminating them after a CRUSHING victory - Wings beat the Avs in game 4, 8-2 eliminating them after a CRUSHING victory. Is anyone seeing a relative pattern here?????? GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!

    Game 5 Gameplan

Anyone have any thoughts on the Wings game plan heading into game 5? I think they should definitely put Osgood in, let Hasek sit out. Osgood played about half the game last night, and looked better than Hasek has looked all series. And yeah, maybe Detroit won the first two games with Hasek in net, but this is playoffs, he cannot afford to be letting in goals like he has been. Those goals are the difference makers, and they're the reasons why we didn't sweep the predators. Next, I'm not sure if anyone agrees, but I seriously think we need to do something about our 4th line. I think they need to take out Hartigan! I watch a lot of other teams play, and the 4th line is their energy line. It's the line that goes out there and makes big hits and causes havoc for the other team, it allows teams to pick up energy and momentum. Our fourth line is lacking that, they're not out there changing the pace, causing havoc and bringing momentum. Any other ideas wings fans????

    Game 5 Gameplan

So is it just me, or did anyone notice a lot of shots right into the Predator players? It just seemed that almost half the shots they attempted, hit a predator. I understand the concept of using a screen, but if you're going to use a screen, don't him them!

    JLA Fans Are Pathetic

I completely agree, I think Detroit fans might be loud, but they're not energetic. I've been to games through the season, and we clap and dance, and cheer, and granted it may sound loud, but I think fans need to be a little more energetic. I'm a huge Wings fan. But I'm also a huge Habs fan. I watch as many games as I can on CBC, and the one thing I notice, Canadian fans get way more into it. Calgary, for example, they're slogan is Sea of Red, and I swear almost every Calgary fan in the stands has something red on. We've done those slogans in the past, and I can't recall actually seeing the whole arena packed with red. Fans need to get more into the situations, the PP, the PK, everything. Lets cheer on the boys and bring another cup home!!

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

So I keep reading that the Wings are interested in Brad Stuart. And I keep reading that the Kings are trying to move Ladislav Nagy. Any chances you think Detroit could land Stuart and Nagy in a multiplayer trade???

    The 2008 Trade Deadline Thread

I seriously went to bed around 3:30am in hopes to see at least one trade to the wings. Woke up a half hour ago and still nothing. I dunno about all of you, but I'm getting a bit nervous here. I feel like the trade deadline and the start of free agency are 2 of my 3 favorite times of the season. I'm just wondering if trades are gonna start heating up in a hour or two. I mean I guess I won't be too sad if Detroit doesn't do anything, or even too surprised. But come on, isn't the trade deadline usually booming by this time! All I know is that I'll be watching this like a hawk until 3PM. Anybody else feel this way or is it just me?????

    Flip traded to Atlanta?

So I'm not entirely sure if this has been posted already, primarily because there are too many posts on topics relating to Hossa/Filppula and I was just too lazy to read through them all. Anyway I found this article and thought people might be interested in this: "Waddell won't say who he's talking to, but here's a likely short list: Montreal, Detroit, San Jose and Ottawa. Here's who he would almost certainly want: left-winger Chris Higgins in Montreal, centre Valterri Filppula in Detroit, right-winger Jonathan Cheechoo in San Jose and centre Mike Fisher in Ottawa." It's just a news topic and I'm sure it's probably not very reliable, but the buzz is looming with this Hossa/Filppula trade idea. Sundin, Hossa will command hefty price
