What's Babcock's obsession with using forwards who can't play defense on the point?
-
While we're at it, here's to the Flames winning tonight and the Wild losing. And then the Flames winning with their game in hand.

Has CBC started its Hockey Night in Canada streaming yet?

I think there should be a 4th question here: 4. Is there any doubt in people's minds that this player deserves to have their number retired? In 80 years, we've only retired 6 numbers. That's a really high standard and I think that if we have to debate whether a player deserves this honor, they probably don't.

That was absolutely brutal. I would take Ken and Mickey any day over that garbage. Mike Emrick only called plays after they had already happened and the rest of them spent the whole time arguing with Brett Hull.

This announcing is so bad. I wish they'd stop arguing.

What do we think about Bertuzzi replacing Holmstrom on the ZDH line?
grsbmd replied to sean's topic in General
As long as he can develop chemistry, I think Bertuzzi would be fine on that line. Datsyuk and Zetterberg really just need a finisher to play on their line. I was reminiscing today about this. Imagine the 2007 Datsyuk and Zetterberg on a line with the 2002 Brett Hull. He was so good even Devereaux could set him up to score. Just think what D and Z could do. -
True, but Nieminen has about as bad of a track record as Tootoo.

So weird. I happened to stumble across this on youtube today too. I had forgetten about it completely.

Did that announcer just say that Detroit never dumps the puck except for a line change?

Anyone think Markov might be facing a suspension for instigating?
-
Not so much complaining about it (highsticking is an automatic penalty), but did the refs have their hand up when they whistled on the Bertuzzi hit? Ken and Mickey also mentioned that the linesman might have caught the highstick. What is the rule about that?

Anyone else being swayed towards The-League-is-trying-to-make-Nashville-win conspiracy theories?

Last year during the playoffs I was a big buffalo fan mostly because Versus/NBC would never even mention how well they were doing when they were one of the best in the east. I've always liked Atlanta though. I like their young players.

Why don't we just play a man short the rest of the season? Seems logical the way the reffing has gone the last 3 games.
-
Is this worthy of a youtube? I think I missed it.

I love Jim Hughson. He's my favorite play-by-play guy.

2-0 Wings. Bart Lebda and Rex Hudler. Dominik Hassock comes up big. This isn't a jinx since Hassock doesn't play for us right?
-
Maybe I'm starting to overanalyze (I've always been the one defending him), but is anyone else concerned that in our "playoff atmosphere" game, the only place Datsyuk shows up on the score sheet is an assist to a breakaway goal?
-
I couldn't find a better place to post this, but I've been looking for the picture with a bunch of Red Wings in sunglasses and suits with Henrik Zetterberg in front. Does anyone know where I can find it? I think it would make a good background.

I'm pretty sure that Dan Cleary has never not scored on an NHL level shootout try.
