Amen! The Rangers are a classy organization. I was super impressed when they presented the 600th goal awards to Jagr and to Shanahan and they actually flew in Stevie and Mario! That was cool. I had never NEVER seen an organization bring in players from OTHER teams to do something like that. I emailed them and told them so, and someone in HR actually wrote me back. I really enjoyed the ride with the Rangers this year. They played out of their minds for the better part of the spring, and made it much farther than anyone hoped. Henrik was human today, and I think that was the difference. No regrets. I will certainly be watching next year. I can't imagine that they won't keep Shanny and Avery.

The Rangers were robbed of a goal due to the kicking motion law.... which I think was crap. Buffalo got the benefit of several calls, and even they acknowleged that in their newspapers...

I really like Grapes... he is kinda a homer, though. It gets bad during the playoffs.

This is how they have played most of the year. You can see why I have enjoyed watching them so much. They just try to bring it, no matter win or lose. Heaven help me if the Wings and the Rangers play each other. I have really come to love the Rangers... and grudgingly respect Jagr, but I still think he is an ass.

SO, I am watching the Rangers/Sabres game. They had the Irish tenor to sing "God Bless America" for the crowd. The game is being broadcast overseas tonight. It is 3 am. He sings God Bless America and I am suddenly overwelmed with the obsurdity of the game. Caring so much about HOCKEY when we have people dying in a war.... Just hit home. And Kudos for the Sabres crowd for singing along.

On TV, they said it was captain... but I used roughing and it worked. Today is it left wing.

It is not all that long of a stretch. Until the Jackets came along, most Ohioans were Detroit fans... and of course, lots of us still are. Good story, though.

I think that they are missing Homer in front of the net... there are HUGE rebounds and no one there to get them.

I found another great forum... atleast for cheating!! pickuphockey.com and here is a tidbit... duh.. I did not even ever think of this... HEY EVERYONE: Here are a few tips and pieces of info you might find useful! I tried unsuccessfully for a few weeks to get the last card I needed (montreal 76-79) by clicking on make a trade, clicking the drop down menu for "trade for a card you need" and then going through the list of people and offering them 3 cards for the one I needed. I did this for 2 weeks and NOTHING happened. I was getting pissed. THEN what I did was.... Instead I went to the other drop down menu of "trade one of your repeated cards" and it automatically (no matter which one of my doubles I clicked on) showed me who not only needed my double BUT who had the Montreal card I had been looking for for 2 weeks. SO I started only with the first double I had on my list and then just kept going through each name on the list of people that needed it and clicked them to make a trade for the Montreal 76-79 I needed. The next day I got the card. SO, POINT is, don't use the first option of trading for a card you need. It's useless! INSTEAD use the second drop down menu of trading one of your repeated cards and you'll have what you need in no time. It may seem obvious but for 2 weeks I had no clue. ALSO, someone mentioned they weren't sure which card they needed and how many were available. If you don't know, it's easy. First go to make a trade and click from the drop down menu "trade for a card you need". Then start of w/ the first card (Stanley Cup) and you'll notice it says "Oops, system could not find a match". that tells you that the card is so far unavailable until later. So then go to the next card and so on and so on and if it shows you a list of names and asks you to continue, then you know that card is available and you don't have it. Then just mark down which cards you need. Also click on news and it'll tell you how many cards have been released to date. another interesting thing is if you have a lot of coins and try to get more coins by doing the scratch and win, you'll continue to get 0 coins and it'll ask you to try again later. Stupid system! I have way too much time on my hands lol

So what was last night's word during the Stars/Nucks game?? I never heard it and ARENA did not work...

I admit, I was worried about the 'heart' and desire to battle through and win. I am eating some crow now, too... happily! I just had not seen them really battle in a long time.

It is 12:25 am. They just said that the word is ARENA, but it won't enter! Says it is incorrect. Did it work for anyone else?? **EDIT** I just tried again. They said ARENA. I entered it, did not work. I even rewound my tivo to be sure. So I entered NET. Got the points. Go figure!

I generally like CBC, but they are homers for Canadian hockey. I guess that is ok, they are Canadian!

I love him too. I heard one of the announcers a couple weeks ago say that he was the same sort of player that McCarty was... and it is true!

Never and I am sure that had someone snapped and done that, they would have atleast had a team mate apologize for the goonery. Uncalled for. He played 18 seconds for God's sake!

I don't know if I can speak for everyone else, but I can speak for myself. Before this series began, I wasn't very optimistic. I've come to expect the early round meltdowns by the Wings now and wasn't getting my hopes up again. In our playoff predictions thread and my blog, I picked the Flames in six. Then Games 1 and 2 happened. And they got my hopes up. I was feeling good about Red Wings playoff hockey again. Then Games 3 and 4 happened. And suddenly, I was beginning to flashback to '03, '04 and '06. My initial pessimism overtook my newfound optimism. "God damn it, it's happening AGAIN." Now, I'm not going to say something ridiculous like, "I'm never going to watch hockey again if they lose this series!" But year after year, with expectations always so high and results always so lacking...it just f@#%ing HURTS as a diehard Red Wings fan. I'm not being negative due to mob mentality or anything like that. I'm negative because I've seen this before and I already know what to expect...and I think I'm trying to psychologically brace myself for another letdown. Can the Wings win this series? Of course. It's only tied 2-2. WILL the Wings win this series? My gut keeps reminding me of '03, '04, '06... *psst* '04. '03 was an more embarassing disaster. EDIT: Clarity...I'm obviously flustered. Thank you! I put into words everything I was feeling this WHOLE year about the Wings. I love them. I have felt really guilty about becoming as passionate about the Rangers as I have been, but I think that it is because I have been let down by the Wings in the playoffs by early exits. It is more exciting to route for a team that is CLAWING its way in and CLAWING to win games. I think that the Wings played very well the first two games, and they played ok second period yesterday. I did not watch the end of the game, as I had to get up too early today. I just hope they get that intensity back. If they don't, they are done.

I did not want to post this, but I guess I will add my two cents. For this entire year, I have struggled with enjoying watching the Wings as much as I used to. I would watch a game, get bored do something else, whatever while the game has been on. Not every game, but most. It just seems like they have been going through the motions. They don't have to struggle to MAKE the playoffs.... I don't mean win first place in the Conference, just MAKE them. They don't have to struggle for anything. They don't have that tooth and nail claw mentality anymore??? I have been watching the Rangers. I watched them some last year, as I love Henrik.. and once Shanny was there, that was it. I saw about 85% of the games on Center Ice. They have had to fight, claw and tear their way to most wins. Even when Shanny was hurt, and the group of games that stunk happened in early spring, they still fought for what they got... sometimes a loss... They have had heart and determination. I miss not seeing that in the Wings....
