:violin: write HIM a letter than, not all of us. until then, please stop this madness.
-
completely.

expect stevie to have a pre-game speech in the locker room. players have described for years what type of impact that has had on them.
-
it was that one guy on that one day... damn him.

jiggy has carried the ducks, nothing more needs to be said. he's done what he's had to for the most part and deserves the credit he receives. any chance you can have a couple of your buddies distract him a few times in game 6?
-
jiggy is the reason anaheim is in this series. i'm happy to give credit where it's due. for our sake, i'm obviously hoping jiggy has some costly mistakes in game 6.

My name is Jon, and I'm a complete idiot...

short of a fluke giveaway in game 4, his last three contests have been steady improvement. most people just want to hate on bert... they're looking for reasons to take him out of the lineup and in some ways i wonder if there aren't fans (besides draperfan of course) actually willing him onto to bench. pathetic. i expect bert to have a big game 6.

i read your post but apparently took my own liberties with your words, my mistake. ok, so you didn't say it was the difference but it certainly appears to me that you are hellbent on proving that it has a lot to do with the fact that the wings are behind in this series. yes, i've watched the games and as i told you (which answers your question), i've seen some things that weren't called and i've also seen calls that were made and should not have been. what exactly does this prove besides the fact that all season long the same odds existed that a call could be missed or called incorrectly. i'm seriously trying to understand your real hangup here. you might actually be separating yourself from all the other people crying wolf and saying that the refs are losing this series for us. if so, i'd like to better understand the differences between you and them. suffice to say i've had enough of their rush to judgment, trying to to pin our misfortunes on the the officials.
-
fiaf - do you mean to tell me that anaheim has done absolutely nothing to have earned the position they find themselves in right now? is that the claim you are making? please clarify. also, is it your contention that the refs are the difference between detroit being ahead or behind in this series? finally, do you seriously believe that beating this drum you refuse to let go of is going to make a difference, or are you simply looking to start your own coo against the officials of the game?
-
i've seen a few missed calls here and there all season long. it happens... but to make a claim that it's the difference between the wings being ahead or behind in this series is just ignorant.
-
i guarantee there's several men in red that disagree with you... and their fans.
-
ladies and gentlemen, captain optimistic has left the building. i see your post but all i hear is blah, blah, blah... it's all the same "these refs are killing us" BS that we've seen on LGW before. i was hoping you might separate yourself from the onslaught of excuses that have already been used here.
-
your scapegoat has been the refs this entire playoffs. stop beating that drum. teams of character and heart find ways to play through whatever adversity they face and rise to the occasion. this goes for both teams on the ice so to cry that the wings didn't have a fair opportunity is simply a weak claim at best. have the decency to commend an opponent when they make a good play or give credit where its due.

i made a call early into the calgary series that i trust and believe the wings can go down 0-3 in a series and fight their way back in to win overall. i'm curious where all the people have gone that agreed with me. i know some of you are still here but seriously... there's still at LEAST 60 minutes of hockey left here, what's with the premature conclusion(s)? to the few that have kept the faith: thank you for holding it down.
-
i was going to create this thread but i figured it was a lost cause. you're right, and this hopefully will spark a more disciplined fanbase that rallies behind their team, right down to the last puck drop. anything less is unacceptable.
-
this thread serves one purpose and one purpose only... to give LGW fans to *****. let it rest. it was a penalty. an unfortunate call but a legitimate one, nonetheless. what i would find more impressive is a thread about how every game is one game. the wings have the same opportunity to win in game 6 as they did in game 5. the very nature of hockey and other low scoring sports is that it often takes one ill bounce to change the outcome of the game. the wings will go into anaheim and play hard, trying to capitalize on their every opportunity. what sickens me is how much LGW is populated with people who are quick to pull out that excuse trumpet and blow it loudly. the game was well played by both teams and it didn't end in a favorable way for the home team, bottom line. congrats to anaheim for stealing one at the joe. they had better be prepared for a very hungry detroit team in game 6. go wings!
-
the ducks were the better team collectively last night, bottom line. that was one game, there are at least two more coming. save the "we're dead, you're dead" comments for an elimination game at least... even game 5 is not the deciding game that dictates whether or not the wings move to the next round yet people are treating it like it is. as far as duck fans, there have been some classy people visiting our boards but overall they have a lot to learn from the likes of some calgary and san jose fans... perhaps grypho will elect to teach them a thing or two.
-
he hasn't strayed far from the organization since he left the game... helps out with the griffins a lot.
-
both.
