sounds like another poor excuse for a useless thread to me. they're playing hockey, period.

exciting game! sure, it would have been nice to have a different result but pittsburgh did what they were expected to do. the pressure is on the pens to not allow for a split on their home ice. either way, the pens have to win 4 of the last 5 games against this red wings team. while not impossible, its highly improbable and unlikely at best. the gameplan was solid and came very close to resulting in a steal on pittsburgh's ice. while tired and rightfully so, don't expect the wings to rest on their laurels. this is a veteran team with years of experience and they've proven time and again to be the more disciplined group of players on the ice. looking forward to another close match-up thursday. i highly doubt dats is ready to return but draper will add some much needed faceoff and pk help. the rest of the lineup can remain as is, as far as i'm concerned.

the last shift is an advantage but not "the" difference in this series. the bottom line is "WILL" and you better believe that the veteran players of the wings know very well what it takes to play mind over matter hockey. both games have been solid for each team and it would make just as much sense at this point to suggest this could still be a 7 game series, or a sweep... time will bring us the answer. nobody has lacked effort, for the most part. "the" difference and key to the wings finding themselves up 2-0 is FINISHING. getting one puck behind a goalie each game is not going to do well for your chances of winning a game, let alone a series. case and point, defensive disciplined corps and a poised mature goalie have improved the chances of the wings' repeat immensely. don't reserve your spot for the parade just yet. hold off for a split or a sweep, if either should happen.

forgive me if this has already been addressed in my absence but a simple search on LGW resulted in more threads than i cared to investigate. after all, the inquiry is Stanley Cup Finals. (good issue to have) just curious why the FINALS are now known as the FINAL. the logo and all representations i've seen indicate Stanley Cup Final, which seems strange. anyway, just an honest question i thought of during a break from work. pens fans are doing enough pissing and moaning to not need additional thread topics but this is for those of us who aren't listening to that classless nonsense. thanks.

probably places me in the minority but i actually found the girl more annoying than kris. he likes fergie... ok. i bet hundreds of guys (and maybe even girls) do here, too. those candid locker room interviews usually make for some quotables. sure, kris doesn't hold a tune but i applaud his effort and his teammates never have to go far for ammunition if/when he wages friendly rivalry with them.

wings will win. fundamental power play movement, ozzie had no chance and neither would any other goalie. that is textbook, coached from squirt league. stay with it. raise the glasses when you hear the final horn.

eh, sammy/datsyuk... can't predict them all. the scoreboard is what matters most and duck fans are feeling dejected right about now. that's all that matters at the moment.

however inappropriate, i'd rather they speak with their mouth instead of their fists, unlike some of your classless fans. yeah, way to lead by example. the pond is a terrible place to watch a game because opponents' fans often become targets, not only as the butt of jokes but in several cases testimony from front page news after they are beat senseless by lowlife duck fans. great showing... bravo.
