sorry, i missed the part where you said it needed to be 20" or more in diameter. the two suggestions i made won't fit that criteria but i still stand by the SALAD BOWL concept. most people i know that have made replicas went that route and its worked well. in any event, good luck and post pics when its done.

i think, in any case, we should steer clear of making over-generalizations as much as possible. this event sickens me but i can guarantee this one fan that isn't thinking straight is not a good representation of the team he represents. every organizations runs the risk of people blurring the lines between fan and fanatic so my heart goes out to the blue jackets for having to endure this negative publicity. that said, i'm ready to get out the broom and pay close attention to our next opponent.

good clean hit... glad umberger is ok. no penalty, which was the right call. no contest. thanks for posting, and for adding the FSD angle when its available.

look on the bright side jackets fans... you have proven a classy group of people and we're delighted to have you with us... and you still have one of the top 5 jerseys in the league, for whatever that's worth. make yourself at home even after your team starts their summer early. cheers!

perhaps but hockey talent completely aside, ovie is one ugly SOB... just sayin.

come to GR for a game at the Van... many DRW brass can be found regularly scouting the game/players, including quite a few former players (some of whom are in the HHOF).

exactly. that inconsistency gave the advantage to hamilton, hands down. expect the griffs to be reminded that this is a 60 minute effort and no less is acceptable. this is a disciplined club so i project a much better defensive effort... with special emphasis on closing lanes in the neutral zone. hamilton (even more in 2nd period) seemed to skate through center ice unscathed more times than any member of the griffs may care to admit. the griffs also need to get back to getting pucks on goal instead of setting up and waiting for a pretty play to develop. screw vanity... just get the puck on net and look for chances second and third shot opportunities near the crease. game 4 has all the makings of a classic showdown and the winner (regardless of the outcome) will likely gain control of this series.

ok, i thought i recall the last LB taken first overall becoming a pro bowl regular... must have been a different draft. thanks for the correction. either way, they should go OL so i suppose this is all a moot point. jason smith, PLEASE. i agree completely with the QB situation... better options in '10. won't happen but if by some stroke of luck this guy drops to the 3rd round, i'd spend one of our picks on him - i know, crazy thought because we have better chances of all four seasons of weather in one day... one can still dream.

game on! dangle, dangle!

changes made were subtle enough to be in good taste. the blue didn't change as much as i thought it might, according to unconfirmed reports i heard a month or so ago. i, for one, appreciate that they kept with the overall honolulu blue theme. helmets will take some getting used to but after all, they are just unis... its not indicative of play on the field. hopefully this is one of several things that give this team a much needed shot in the arm. i'd like jason smith with #1, or aaron curry... but taking a linebacker with the first overall pick seems a little unlikely. at the same time, we know what happened the last time a team made that decision... so i'm not against it.

all behavior aside, i'd say ovechkin had the last laugh in game 3. still looking for the rangers to win but at least washington is making it a series.
