you're not alone... given what we have and no cap space, a move would be ill advised

    Retire #'s 18,25,33,96

when making an intellectual retort, absence of the word "dude" will likely result in you being taken seriously. the point stands, #91 will not be hanging from the rafters. the man love people have for him has got to stop. respect, sure... i'll give him that much... retiring his jersey, give me a break.

    Retire #'s 18,25,33,96

#5 will be the next to go. no others are even worth consideration right NOW. (with special emphasis on "NO", meaning NOT federov, NOT shanahan, and NOT any other former wing for which people have a love affair) plaque, statue... sure, mr. illitch could hook them up with free lifetime hot and ready little caesar pizzas for all i care... but NO jerseys in the rafters. the grind line will especially be honored upon their exit in one form or another... count on it. this is an organization with the most class in the league. they already have a few distinguished murals/pictures in the joe louis suites to honor #18/#33/#25.

Osgood proves he doesn't deserve No. 1 spot

if conklin started the game, he lets those first two pucks go by him... the third goal ozzie might have been able to stop. regardless, this is just another blame the goalie thread and it gets old. our captain summed it up: When analyzing this current four-game slide, Nicklas Lidstrom looks to the defensive end as to where the Wings have hurt themselves. "We've been defensively playing with the puck in our own zone too much," Lidstrom said. "We've been looking at the puck and not picking up players. We have to be quicker on pucks and get pucks out quicker." go back and watch the games... it IS the defense and NOTHING more needs to be said.... really.

    Value of Wings

1-15 is spot on... toss up after that. good to see not everyone is throwing ozzie to the dogs. he'll make a believer out of all of us, including the critics, come crunch time.

Hossa's agent weighs in on Zetterberg deal

on paper maybe but franzen plays much bigger than his size would indicate... would prefer to keep the focus on talent and intangibles to the team... in that arena, it's no contest. i'm all for hossa making sacrifices to play here and look forward to kenny trying to secure him or franzen but it definitely appears to be one or the other, not both. either way, i trust the DRW brass.

Do we really have to sign both Franzen and Hossa?

as the veterans leave, let the kids play... that's the only way they are going to cut their teeth in this league. if not then, it probably won't happen because we have enough seasoned leaders on this team to prevent vacancies in the roster. we have a few d-men in GR that could already be called up if need be... lidstrom won't be replaced but at least we'll be heading in the right direction with our efforts.

Hossa's agent weighs in on Zetterberg deal

trading flip is not the answer, bottom line. i suspect i will hear several of you people encouraging this motion loud and clear during the playoffs as you begin to recant on such a premature conclusion.

    Ovechkin CHEAP SHOT

sure, and hence the "for whatever its worth" introduction... the words themselves seem sincere, that's just my opinion. just figured adding an update from a confirmed source would potentially change the course of this thread... call it wishful thinking.
