Thanks a lot guys. I hope Leino gets his head around the fact that he must earn his keep and there are no freebies, especially in an organization like the Red Wings. He only needs to look as far as his countryman Flip who has worked hard and developed leaps and bounds as a hockey player since leaving Finland. Leino can make it if he really wants to but he has to admit that the problem is his work rate, not his scoring. You cannot learn a thing you think you know. Get your chin up and your hands dirty Ville!

It's too bad that his talent goes to waste because there's no effort. Until he is willing to pay his dues nothing is going to change and he will be shown the door. And rightfully so, I'm not going to give him any benefit of the doubt because he's Finnish. If he's not ready to fight for the Red Wings, he's not my kind of player and I don't want him on this team.

We sure could have used him with all these injuries...

As I said, to keep as many players as possible. It's not about performance at all and I love Helm as much as the next guy.

Not a big difference whether it's Meech or Lebda but at least Meech has some upside (at least I'd like to think so). As for Helm, yes he's valuable but you also have to think roster management-wise. Wings can still take advantage of him being waiver exempt and bring him back up when the number of roster players is no longer limited.

I was trying to think of a way to keep as many guys as possible. I wish Lebda was waived too but it'll probably be Janik.

Flip does look a bit weird now that his body has filled out, he was so slender when he left Finland. EDIT: Leino looks kinda like young Dr. House in this one.

I'm sure Stevie has tried his best to take that into account as well.

Spacek and Hejduk weren't chosen either.

He's a pretty good puck-moving defenseman and he's unlikely to be dressed for the games at all anyway. I'm just wondering if this defense is too soft.
