Why would he even want to be a backup at this point of his career? He knows he needs to play as much as possible and sitting on the bench and only playing a handful of games would just frustrate the heck out of him.

I think Koivu wanted to send a message to the management since he was frustrated with the fact that Habs weren't able to bring in enough reinforcements during the summer. But yeah, he probably should have picked a different way to voice his opinion.

Not to be a homer here but Flip for sure. I think he's ready for a bigger role and due for a breakout. It's also interesting to finally see Grigs in action, hopefully he can be counted on for some secondary scoring. EDIT: I almost forgot Rafalski. He should do great with the Wings.
