I think it depends on how you look at it. Right now he is overpaid but over the course of the whole contract the price rounds out to be quite decent. I voted "yes" because right now he's overpaid for what he brings. I hope Raf, Z and Dats step up like Lids has and show why they get the big bucks.

If losing Leino, Lebda and May is enough, great.

Definitely worth a shot.

I find it funny to argue Filppula's overpayment when our bona-fide star players have disappointed so far. So far this season, Filppula has outproduced everyone except Datsyuk and Zetterberg offensively (points/game) and provided solid defensive play which we all know is typical of him. This team has some real problems and Filppula is not one of them.

Lidstrom is a special case and I'm sure he must make up his mind way before July 1st as well. And I don't see why he would cripple the Wings' off-season and tie Holland's hands up by holding out anyway.

This is great news and pretty much out of left field, I had sort of given up on Lilja ever playing again. I guess we were due a positive surprise.
