I would actually like to see Stastny pull off an upset here, even though he plays for the Avs.
-
More like Stastny for Calder TROPHY.
-
Hopefully he won't teach Rex any laziness. If Rex is able to keep up his hot hand, he should soon be renamed T-Rex! I just wonder how he'll fare in the playoffs which is a wholly different ballgame. I hope he can come up big, be a success with the Wings and show his worth to Babs.
-
Not a bad scenario. And a very possible one as well, that guy just doesn't have brakes.
-
I don't think there will be any rotation come playoff time, unless a compelling need emerges (injury, laziness and sucking etc.). The guy that Babs finds better suited to our playoff roster after regular season, plays (and who knows about the injuries, maybe they'll both play). Alternating players unnecessarily would likely just distract line combinations and keep both of these guys from getting into a groove.

I know, I'm not saying I want Maltby on the Wings either. He's a mere shadow of his former self.
-
I'd for sure give up the first seed if that meant getting him healthy for the playoffs.
-
You might wanna keep track of the site though, the info will still change before the game. Just a moment ago they got the Avs-Flames game up there.
-
If you have SopCast though, here are some links that MIGHT show the game through the program. I kinda have the same problem as you, not having any telly channels with NHL action.
-
Sounds cool! Did Turco like his playoff chances this time around?
-
Certainly! Unfortunately there are gonna be some stupid a-hole teams who will overpay and as we know, Kenny won't go there (as he shouldn't). Of course there's the risk that Pavel won't dominate the playoffs similarly to the regular season, but I don't think he actually sucked last post-season either just because he didn't score. I just see signing him sooner rather than later as less of a risk right now.
-
If those numbers were correct, then I'd have to agree with you. However, I at least want to believe that as of now he would sign for around 5.5 mil. That would be enough to make a difference. Besides, who do you think could replace him on our team and at a reasonable price? It's gonna be a bidding war and some teams will most certainly overpay. Sure we could take our chances and wait for free agency but that's risky business.
-
We'll have to pay him even more if he rocks in the playoffs. I think it's better to try and sign him now, we shouldn't let him go even if the playoffs don't go his way. It's less risky to sign him now and most likely for less money.

I vaguely recall someone here suggesting a while back that he should be renamed to Walter Fillup.
-
Why the heck would we want this guy on the Wings? He has a whopping two goals and four assists in 59 games plus a -12 rating on a supposedly "elite" Preds team. He may play with heart but his head doesn't always keep up. I don't want to see any Wings player charge like that and constantly embarrass himself by hugging the boards.
-
Way to go Kylie, this calls for celebration! Maybe I'll have a beer or two in his honor tonight. :beerbuddy:
-
He's not much of a player but somehow it makes me feel more comfortable when there's someone in the lineup who gives something back to the opponents and at least tries to retaliate at times.

These spelling goofs are quickly becoming some sort of a weekly amusement. Yeah, I bet Flip's name is a real pain in the ass to pronounce and even write for native English speakers. For us Finns it goes smoothly (obviously) since the phonetics are a bit different. Maybe he should americanize (what a word) his name so that it would get along with the English pronounciation as well. A name contest for Flip?
-
Can you promise me another victory? I hope Booter makes Jordin "the-boards-feel-so-good" Tootoo familiar with the ice surface tonight thanks to all of his foolish charging. Come on boys! A home-and-home sweep, yes please!
-
Cheers wingnuts! First of all, thank you wingslogo19, you completely justified my belief! How about another one tonight? Or maybe it was just about me missing the game and not jinxing our team... The game started @ 2 a.m. our time and I needed to be at school 8.30. What a great start to my day when I checked the score! So a crazy night, huh? At least judging by this megalomaniacal 55+ page presentation. Big props to Ozzie, he was even better than in his last outing in Nas! Some huge saves. Seems like this game wouldn't have been good for my nerves, they would lie in ruins thanks to the officials' performance. Gladly it didn't cost us the victory that we so much deserved. Good to see the kids contribute so much in a big game. I just LOVED it when Flip rubbed it in on Vokoun and dropped him on his butt. And as for Calder, what more can you say? What a steal by Kenny. Kyle worked so hard that even lazy old Bob was able to score! Tootoo looks like a moron out there, running around the boards as if he was playing blindfolded. He might as well play without a stick. Always good for a laugh though. Booter should give him a little "reminder" tonight to keep those stupid charges in check before someone gets hurt. Finally, Vokoun looked like he couldn't catch a beach ball! Another W tonight and I'll be very, very happy.

Here's a clip of his jump: Not a very good quality video but it's something! He seems to get onto the net quite easily.
-
He wouldn't let us down, would he..? I believe!
-
Hi there pal! A big game no question but I'm confident since you promised that we would win. In all reality though, I'd be fairly satisfied with an OT/SO loss if we kick their mustard asses tomorrow. Well well what do you know, good ol' Bob leading a statistical category for us. I guess his floating antics are so tiring that he must take an extra two minutes' rest every now and then. GO WINGS!

It's been good to see Rex play a feisty game with some attitude and balls, he's going into traffic areas etc. Hopefully he can overcome the size issue, he obviously has smooth hands and a helluva shot.
-
That's true, I probably picked my words a bit incorrectly. He isn't actually so much complaining about anything or to anyone, just stating his disappointment in his season.
