Don't worry, we're no Islanders. P.S. Cool signature
-
Just about every player seems to warrant a first-rounder this time around.
-
MacTavish should've worn a helmet in his playing days, his head may have been knocked around one too many times.
-
Not in vain is Z our captain-to-be. If he keeps up the hot hand for the rest of the season, who knows. But Selke would be a good consolation.
-
Cleary has never been among our s***tiest players. Willy has been miserable but I'd still say that it's mostly Lang and his attitude that is the biggest problem at the moment.
-
Can't really take advantage with Sammy and Cleary out too.
-
Waddell got totally screwed big time. Good luck with those farm-selling tactics.

What a bunch of sissies, cry me a goddamn river. Lupul's injuries were just bad luck, the hit would have been perfectly clean had Kronner kept his feet firmly on the ice. The Oil should know better what cheap shots are. Get over it. It's a man's game, sometimes you get hurt. EDIT: Sykora's cross-check on Z was a cheaper shot, Z just wasn't hurt.

Sounds like a good (and at least somewhat original) assessment to me. No one player is gonna make the Wings a gritty team but at least I'd feel a bit more comfortable going into the playoffs is we got one or two tougher guys in. But if a reasonable trade can't be accomplished, Wings just have to work with what they have and that's it. Whatever happens, just gotta keep cheering for our boys!

Will be 29 in July. EDIT: Damn ARice.

What an incredible doubleheader between those teams within days. Hell of a lot of goals, great fights and everything. That's good ol' hockey!
-
Kindl isn't going anywhere, especially for a rental. He just might crack the Wings' lineup next season.
-
Flip and Rex are both better and born in the same year as Fleisch.
-
Yeah, Stevie has always been good defensively but he only got better under Scotty. I just think that not everyone on the team was as committed to defense as the players today. But as I said, I don't really know for sure.
-
Hilarious! That smiley just about says it all.
-
Wow. Atlanta really wanted him bad.
-
Goddamn, why another winger? Should've been Lang, he'd be more helpful watching from the sidelines.
-
Atlanta keeps piling up a good amount of playoff experience. They already have guys like Kozlov, Rucchin, Mellanby, Holik, de Vries... I don't know how I feel about him not coming here. He would have addressed some needs but i'm hoping there are still better options left.

Weren't the Wings quite sloppy defensively back then and mostly relied on their offense? Stevie was mainly an offensive force and not the solid two-way player and Selke winner that he would later become. In the speech he gave in Stevie's retirement ceremony, Scotty said that when he came to Detroit in '93, he saw that the team was very talented offensively but wasn't able to win in the playoffs. He started to advocate better defensive game and made Steve among others a better all-around player. That's probably the best guess I have regarding these stats. I don't really have a recollection from those times since I only became a fan in the 93-94 season.

I don't see how that suggestion is any better. We get Guerin and Blues get... nothing.

myp2p.eu has a SopCast link for the game, just watching it. Mair just took a cheap run at Spezza, almost led to the first fight.
-
I'm watching Sens-Sabres right now with SopCast. myp2p.eu has a link for the game.
-
No wonder he's had problems finding comfortable "skates".

Hmmm, looks kinda familiar but I can't remember which Preds player that is...
