How about 5 New faces, aswell as 6 rookies, two of them in net?? The red wings would never do a weird and unmotivated overhaul like that (especially when they are winning with the current lineup).

quick question; anybody know of any online streams for this game?

An update on Dick Axelsson; The playoffs in SEL have started, Färjestad is the top team, facing 7th-placed Brynäs in the quarterfinals. Axelsson has 0+2 for 2 points in the first two games. Färjestad has won those two 2-0 and 2-1 respectively, and Axelsson has had the primary assist on the GWG in both of those games. And both of the assists were really nice individual efforts from him aswell. He's done really well, and it seems he's clutch .

www.myp2p.eu (altough i dot think that site works atm, because of legal precidings against the ite owners) http://www.atdhe.net (this site is the best, only thing you need is media player, good quality and almost every game there)

An update on Axelsson; He has 2g+6a for 8 points in 8 games in his new club, playing on the second line with former Wings pick Mikael Johansson and swedish veteran Jesper Mattsson (drafted at #18 by the Flames in 93). He really seems to enjoy himself, there are a lot more veteran leadership in färjestad and much more depth, so he doesnt have the same pressure to deliver here. His line with Mattsson and Johansson has been a success, with some really nice goals and nifty passing.

Check out nhltorrents.uk. They have it, not a DVD format, but in HD.

Actually, i remember a lot of complaints of not playing a full 60 minutes of hockey last season aswell. I guess people can always find stuff to ***** about (though i agree that the team need to step it up if they are going to have success in the postseason).

To add on to what i wrote earlier, Axelsson is now a member of Färjestads BK, "my" swedish team. Source: http://www.farjestadsbk.se/ http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hock...ticle3979848.ab Apparantly there have been troubles with some of the players in Djurgården, Axelsson says he have confronted a couple of players, but hasn't gotten a clear answer whats wrong. It seems he doesn't really know what the problem is. I really hope that he gets some confidence, and if he has off-ice issues they get sorted out. I actually think he will be given a real good shot to show what a player he really can be. Färjestad is one of the top teams in SEL, this year they have had problems with goalscoring and injuries though, but still they are the fourth-placed team, and within one win of the lead. Known players on FBK; Rickard Wallin, Jörgen Jönsson, Peter Nordström, Lee Goren and former Red Wings pick Mikael Johansson (Jonas Frögren and Fabian Brunnström aswell).

Dick Axelsson is being demoted to Djurgården Juniors, according to Aftonbladet (Link: http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hock...ticle3961465.ab ). Axelsson has had a rough season so far, being injured and only able to play 17 games. Still he has 5 goals + 7 assists for 12 points in those 17 games. The GM of Djurgården now says he hasn't lived up to the expectations the club has on it's players when it comes to training and playing. Dick himself says he doesn't know why he gets demoted, but also says he will just keep on training the best he can to try and retake his spot in the squad. Detroit European Chief Scout Håkan Andersson comfirms the demotion, but also says that Dick still is under contract with Djurgården. "If the club chooses to terminate the contract we will have to think about what to do in that case", he says. I tried to translate it the best i could, don't know if everything is correct, but i think you will atleast get the context. It's a real shame he gets demoted, hopefully its not about motivationproblems..

I would say the exact opposite. We all know the Wings are a top 3 team in the West when the playoffs begins, and thats when it matters. And thats where we need the Kronwallian Open Icers! If he did it more over the course of the season he would get more worn out and more prone to injury.

That was so funny! I love them, the best kind of humor .

Thats 14 forwards+8 defensemen+2 goalies counting against the cap. Is that really correct, a 24 man roster? i thought you could only have 23, one forward/defenseman less? Take away say lebda and samuelsson, thats 3.65. Then add Franzen at 3.5 instead of samuelsson. Is that at all possible, or just wishful thinking? Edit; Im bad at math . 22 man roster, not 24. Is it possible to replace Samuelsson with Franzen and still make it work?
-
I get what you are saing, and its true that he's been on a hot streak for some time. I have no other basis than just watching him play saying this, but i however think franzen looks like a star out there. Not like Z or Dats or Hossa, but close enough. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Franzen become a 65-70 point 35-40 goal player for a good chunk of years to come.
-
He really did excel on the Rangers though.

Well this is a redwings forum, its not any other hockey outlet. I really haven't posted that much so i dont know about many humorous posts. And i dont know how people generally think about fighting in North america, but i do know what people think here in Sweden. And i know there are many different opinions, and that it depends on who you ask. Im no moron as you make me seem, i know i posted perhaps a wierd angry post before, but stop acting like you know everything and have twice the hockeyknowledge compared with me. Ive also watched alot of hockey, i know about the origin of hockey as ESAD were so polite to point out to me that i didnt know anything about. Ok, enough of this. The real positive - really nice to see Helm!

Yea ok sry if i came out wrong. Im not native english speaking and interpreted it wrong. And i said i think we need a Drake-type player, so that i did mention. I love physical play, im swedish and i think the SEL is a much more boring hockey than the NHL, mostly because the big rinks -> much less hitting. I guess i didnt really knew what you were saying with your post, sry that i can't understand english that well...Silly me.
-
We won the STANLEY ******* CUP with this team. Sure we may need a Drake-type player, i agree with that, but otherwise that comment is just stupid. Those players you listed really played a "soft" game last spring right?
-
Because people are stupid, and only want to see lots of fighting. Its hard to use the brain you know! Uuuh more fights! Like thats so useful.. I like watching a good fight now and then, but i also think there needs to be a good reason. This showoff fighting has no point. Its not the end of the world, like Heaton and NFM has said McCarty's style doesn't fit this game, he (or Downey?) will be back sooner than later..
