I've been watching just about every Pens game, and I think Crosby is amazing. He reminds me of Gretzky. People who compare him to Ovechkin need to calm down. Its been said before, they are completely different types of players. Personally, I think Crosby is harder to shut down, and therefore more effective. Ovechkin's main weapon is his individual offensive skills, whereas Crosby has playmaking ability. Teams that can shut down Ovechkin take away all of his effectiveness, but teams that shut down Crosby still get burned by his linemates - you can never really stop a playmaker. As long as Marc-Andre Fleury can keep playing the way he is, Pittsburgh is going to the SCF. Crosby has been leading them and he will continue to put up points. What I'm wondering is, if the Red Wings meet the Pens in the final, will they be able to stop Crosby? I'd like to believe the Wings would sweep the inexperienced Pens, but in the back of my mind, I wouldnt be surprised to find out that Crosby/Malkin/Hossa etc CANT be stopped...

I am in, I've been growing playoff beards since 2002. I normally wear a beard thats trimmed short with no moustache, but I will shave it off the morning of Game 1 (Thursday). I always shave my neck during the playoffs but I let the rest of my face go until the Wings are out. I made the mistake last year of trimming it for a job interview. This was during the Ducks series and the Wings lost, so I wont make the same mistake ever again!!! Track my playoff beard on my webcam: I'll probably shave my neck regularly during the playoffs, as I start to look like Abe Lincoln otherwise.

hockey nets have been 4x6 for like 100 years now. If the NHL decides to change that, even by 1 inch, they might as well take the entire history of the game and light it on fire. I don't see them ever doing something that drastic, hardcore fans wouldn't stand for it.

My first game was in 1991...I think. It was against St. Louis. I remember the Wings won like 13-5 or something crazy. Cheveldae was in net for the Wings, and both St. Louis goalies gave up 6 goals each, or something like that. I have the ticket stub around here somewhere, can anyone remember this game? I'd like to know exactly when it was, and maybe find the scoresheet for the game. It was a great game to see, being my first one @ the Joe. I would have been 9 or 10 years old at the time.

I love Bertuzzi and I want him back more then anything this summer. I would be comfortable with the Wings paying him up to $5 mil next season. A healthy Bertuzzi is worth more than $5 mil. If they lock him up to a multi-year deal, I'm getting my Bertuzzi jersey the next day

sometimes this forum pisses me off. people come on here and vent their moronic ideas that arent even plausible, just because they are pissed about whatever. theres really nothing to take from this year that isnt positive. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME ANYONE MENTIONED THE WORD "GRIT"??? Isnt that what the Wings were always lacking? Didn't they finally show "GRIT"? I see no credit being given from anyone on that.

i'm sad, but it was great watching this team. Best team in years, and great hope for next year. Still...sad

I think GM calls it Slate Blue Metallic, it was night-time too so maybe it was actually black. To me, it looked like the blue in the Canucks jerseys. I also saw the Sedins come out together in a black Mercedes ML suv. For the record, if Bert HAD run me over, I would have have been fine with it. It was after the Red Wings had won Game 6, Brett Hull had a hat trick that night. Bertuzzi was the LAST player to drive out from under GM Place. Hopefully Wings fans will be seeing Bertuzzi in a red jersey running over the opposition for many years to come.

Bertuzzi almost ran me over in his light blue Hummer H2 in Vancouver in 2002, can you confirm he owned this type of car at one time? BTW I think Bert is totally bad ass and have much man love for him!!!
