I think the playoff beard is one of the coolest traditions when it comes to hockey superstitions. Hopefully the fact that I have to shave mine off for a job interview on Thursday won't jinx the Wings. I've been logging visual updates of my playoff beard here: I think mine is ok, but I have to give 'mad props' to Cleary, Bertuzzi, Schneider, and even Quincey for having some rockin' grizzly bear style. I swear Schneider has been trimming his since Round 1, because it sprang up so quickly, he'd be a yeti by now.

I'm not sure what everyone is really complaining about here. With regards to people getting up during play, yeah that is kind of annoying. I generally feel Wings season ticket holders are spoiled, self centered people for the most part (but thats really not the topic). As far as how low the camera is, PEOPLE, that is the WAY IT SHOULD BE!!! The lower the better. I, for one, cant stand some rinks who have a main camera shot that looks like its up in the press box. Its good for seeing plays develop, I suppose, but the players look like ants compared to how they look with a nice, low, close up camera that can follow the action. Anyone who watches Hockey Night in Canada knows that they shoot games the same exact way as the usual FSN Red Wings setup. To me, this is critical to how the game is presented. Can anyone please give me some positives to having a high camera angle besides seeing the play from a more top-down view? That is the only thing I can think of.

I'm going to try to get tickets from either dailystubs or stubhub tomorrow morning. I'll post here and let people know how it goes.

Obviously the goals tonight were total flukes. Of course the most optimistic thing you can take from that is that Hasek kept us in the game.

I'm posting to support good ol' Sammy. Hes another great example of a player the Wings have found in the junkpile, dusted off, shined up, and look at him now! I met Sammy in Westland Mall awhile back just after he signed his multi-year deal with the Wings, and I told him I was really happy he got a contract, and glad to have him on the team. Even though his play can seem...futile at times, hes got SKILLZ...he can make things happen every now and then. Kudos to him and the Red Wings organization for having him on the team and in the lineup!

HA the HNIC crew doesnt believe it was "equipment" either, hahahahaha
-
No way it was an equipment problem. I dont believe that for a second.
-
"looked like he got sick and had to uhhhh, do something at the last second" - DID I CALL IT OR WHAT. Luongo had the runs
-
Well, a great period of playoff OT hockey. Now I'm curious to hear about what kept Luongo off the ice at the start
-
Well looks like the 'Nucks killed one off too....
-
forget about it, series over. Puck-over-the-glass penalties are a guaranteed PP goal
-
Looks like we are going to have to wait until intermission, or maybe the end of the game, before we find out why Luongo wasnt in net at the start of OT
-
Obviously Luongo had to go to the can
-
LETS GO 'NUCKS
-
seriously, what else could it be - maybe Luongo had to take off all his equipment to get the proper angle. As everyone should know, it takes a long time for a goalie to get dressed This is one of the most odd things i've seen in awhile, i cant wait to hear the explanation of why Luongo didnt start OT
-
Luongo must be taking a dump...

I hope this is true, Maltby has been a cornerstone of this team when it comes to the PLAYOFFS...and if those numbers are right, how could this be a bad thing? Maltby is exactly the kind of guy we need more of during the playoffs.

Totally awesome...

You're not a Wings fan

I'm a longtime lurker on the forum, and I felt, while watching Game 6 tonight, that I just had to pop in here and ask if anyone else thought Lilja was living up to his hype as "The Pain Train"...? I keep flashing back to 2004 when Fischer was constantly giving the puck away, seemed like he was always on the ice during the goals against. I would have never expected that Lilja would turn in a better performance against the Flames than Fischer ever did. Everyone on here likes to laugh how Lilja is a big man, who is pretty soft, not physical enough, gives the puck away, and is basically inept. Anyone else on here saw the complete opposite this series? Quincy also impressed me tonight, as he looked confident and didn't make one bad turnover that I can recall. Lang, while still exhibiting his trademark lazy and sucky play, still managed to put some points up and had a big goal to neutralize Iginla's goal tonight. I have to give him a few props, however we will need more then just 1 goal from him in the next series. Samuelsson was ineffective when it came to putting up points, however, who can say he wasnt great along the boards, backchecking, and controlling the puck quite well for the most part...of course he did have that horrible triple deke play in his own end tonight... Who else deserves some credit instead of normally getting ripped?

I totally agree, Cleary was a beast. I don't think anyone on here has ever questioned his play this year though. He definately produced more then was expected though, for sure.

Hi, I got some tickets on short notice, 12th row center ice for tomorrow's game against Edmonton. I'm taking a friend of mine, and his girlfriend....that leaves 1 extra ticket. Now don't be shy, I know there are cute young and female Wings fans on this board. If you'd like to go, nothing would make me happier. I am a normal guy, 24 years old, college grad, 6'3" ~ 200lbs, I'll even pick you up, buy you dinner or a beer, whatever! I go to a lot of games, and if you haven't been yet this year, nows your chance! Call me or email me your pics. Jon derhuhn@aol.com (425)444-2791
