lebda's speed usually doesn't amount to a whole lot of anything.

i mentioned various reasons as to why i thought we should keep lilja over lebda...but if you're thinking of a lidstrom-lilja combo again...well, i'm still having nightmares from the edmonton series. *shudder*

would be nice to deal one of lebda/lilja for a late round pick or something and then sign markov i know people here are high on lebda and i know lilja stepped up pretty well in the playoffs, but the bottom line is we have too many 5,6 and 7 postion dmen and we need a legit top 4 right now. if it was up to me i'd deal lebda and play cheli-lilja on the 6th pairing. lidstrom-markov rafalski-kronwall cheli-lilja kindl-quincey looks good to me. lilja is still effective on the PK and he could have a good year when playing against 3rd/4th lines on the 3rd pairing with cheli. lebda doesn't really do anything for us. 99% of the time his great skating amounts to very little, he's the only dman that will get almost no special teams time, and we've got enough undersized dmen. he's simply the most expendable. i know he's got a decent contract for us for 3 yrs but let's face it: he's not top 4 material and if kindl isn't already knocking on the door for a spot this year, he surely will be next year.

it kills me that abdelkader was drafted 2 spots above stastny. gah. oh well...hindsight is 20/20.

they're at 32 - 32.5 right now, but that doesn't take into account any rollovers or bonuses from last year (hasek, etc). any site list those out in detail?

in game 6 he was useless with the puck, he simply fell on his ass every time someone pressured him against the boards, and he took 2 lazy hooking penalties for 4 PIM in 4:50 playing time. that's his "usual self"? ...thanks, but i'll pass. the only way hudler could do worse than that is if he scored on his own goal. he's got to still be injured or something...either way, time to sit him. No sense in wasting a spot for 5 minutes of garbage.
