With Z and Dats on one line I think we basically start with a one-goal lead. Can our remaining 3 lines go even +/- with opposition? tough call. Z/Dats/Mule Filp/Homer/Cleary goes downhill fast after that...

I started a thread a few days back pointing out that Sammy had been playing better, so does that mean I'm allowed to say he's suckin' it up again? I'm not biased against him; half the time my thought goes like this: "godammit! who was that? Oh, Sammuelson, no wonder." So you see, I've made the call before I know its him. All I can figure is Babs' is so incredibly defense-first minded that he totally focused on the fact that he usually gets back...although i see him reaching alot, too...i dunno, i don't get it.

Hehe, you beat me to it. Loved Datsyuk's dirty hit. He's got the Selke wrapped up, so he can forfeit that Lady Bing now

...as long as the Sedins don't activate their wonder twin powers. /form of... defensive responsibility

I predict a complete and slightly bizarre implosion by the BJs Hat trick for someone...is it Franzen I'm sensing?

Lilja has made some big mistakes that are easy to remember and make a big impression. However, I've been impressed with his continued improvement and his fairly new shot-blocking acumen. He throws a lot of unspectacular hits, but I think they add up in a way. All-in-all I think we have a better Lilly-hammer than we did a couple seasons ago; I don't think he'd acquire the tongue-in-cheek, derogatory nickname "Pain Train" if he'd just started today. (Ericsson (sp?) needs serious playing time next year, though, as he's close to Lilja now and has far more potential, probably.) As far as Cheli goes: don't be mad at elegance.

Is it just me or has Sammy looked significantly better the last 3 or so games? Normally I can't say his name without cursing first, but lately it's been more of a "hey! he didn't *&^% up!"

The mac of the 90's was a 3/4 crazy, testosterone-filled party animal; he was so mindlessly confident he started a grunge band, fer gawds sake! Recently, after a Griffins game fight he said something like "I still have that crazy part of me", but in the 90's that wasn't part of him, that was him. I just have serious doubts that a man with a new sense of peace will be the animal it takes to impact as a grinder in the NHL. He might get to the NHL, but impact seems an improbable pipe-dream. I hope I'm wrong; I like the guy. btw, anyone know if he got to keep his Cup rings? I saw they were up for auction at one point.

Am I the only person who remembers how bad he was before we bought him out? We bought him out for a reason, and it showed in CGY. I'll be the first to cheer if he's recaptured some of his youthful piss and vinegar, but it sounds like he's gotten mature and healthy-minded instead. Sadly, you don't want that in a McCarty-like player. My expectations = 0.

But we got Schneider in that deal, and he played pretty good for a while...wait a second, I just talked myself out of that. Yeah, I agree with you.

It would've been a better trade if we'd given up a 2nd, a 4th and Samuelsson for Stuart. But....OklahomaWingNut on Abel to Yzerman made a good point. Stuart might play the point on the 2nd PP unit; which will hopefully get sammy off it. So at least there's that. At least he put up pretty good fantasy numbers a couple years ago running SJ's PP for a bit (as I recall).

Oh? alright, i like that scenario significantly better. thx
