Is it just me, or is this the most dramatic final day to a season in recent memory? Holy crap.
-
That little s***. Can you imagine if he actually had an 8 point afternoon and tied Sedin? He's on pace for it.
-
The letter means that he's a leader. You don't give it to a scrub. He's valued by his team mates even if his on-ice contributions aren't the biggest anymore. I agree that Abdelkader should be in (for Williams). I wouldn't mind May sometimes either, but I still feel Draper offers a little more. As far as Draper "holding them back," that's a little unfair. Cleary is more of a scorer, obviously he'll put up better numbers. This isn't between Cleary and Draper, it's between May and Draper. Edit: To clarify, I do see the argument for May too, I think he'd be a different dimension and somewhat valuable. I just also feel that Draper is being written off too quickly. He's been better than Maltby was.
-
Yes, that's true. I wasn't suggesting that Draper was necessarily THE reason that line ran well, but my point is that he isn't completely useless. I do agree though, with Cleary it's been even better.

Montreal has nothing that would win them a series. Halak, if he is in fact the one starting, could probably win the Habs a game, and keep them in most of them. This'll be over in a hurry though.
-
Since I know that people don't read half the posts in the GDTs: Was the net not off when the puck crossed the line, or am I seeing things?
-
Anyone with a DVR want to check that? To me, the net clearly looked off before the puck went in.
-
Draper is really undervalued here. People seem to forget how good the Draper/Eaves/Helm line was. Then there's the added bonus that he's good on faceoffs and a great leader. And he's one of our assistant captains. Usually if you have a letter, that means you're pretty highly valued. Not a chance he sits.

The Pens (led by Crosby) are going to demolish the Sens. The only time that Crosby has been really shut down in the playoffs is against the Wings. That's one that even you can't deny Carman.
-
I'm sorry, did I see this correctly? According to NHL.com, Gordon and Bradley took the SO for the Caps!?
-
Haha, nicely done.
-
It's official. It's in overtime, so the best Ovechkin can get now is 1 point. Congrats to Sedin.
-
Caps up by one. I'm calling it right now, Ovie will be going HARD for that empty netter.
-
If Ovechkin doesn't score this period, Stamkos has a game left to break the tie in goals (and hope that Crosby, who's 1 back doesn't pass him). Does anybody think that in a year or two we'll have Stamkos to add to the Ovechkin/Crosby argument, or no?
-
Is Boston taking notes? He's 6'2" and 190. But still amazing.
-
They were both absolutely disgusting. I'm going to give the edge to Stamkos though. While the between the legs thing is nice, we've seen it before. The issue there was more that Calgary's D was pathetic and gave him WAY too much time and space. In Stamkos's situation he was played properly and still scored.
-
Our third and fourth lines have looked great all season IMO, with the one notable exception of Williams. Keep him out of there, and I don't think we can go wrong with pretty much any combination.
-
That's a good point. However, TOI for the season as of right now: Sedin: 1614:24 Ovechkin: 1543:30 Crosby: 1755:41 Edit: The Caps are through the second period of their final game and still no points for Ovechkin. He has 4 shots. Things are looking good for Sedin.
-
This just reaffirms it. I would much rather have the 'Yotes in the first round. I really hope we win against Chicago.
-
I agree about Green. But from what I've heard, Smith isn't too great in his own end either which is why I was thinking that. Like I said, I've never seen him play though.
-
Ouch. Can you imagine what would happen on these boards if that ever happened against the Wings?
-
To put it succinctly, he sucks.
