According to Ansar Khan, Grigorenko won't be playing at all tomorrow. Here's the lines he said will be on the ice tomorrow: Forwards Jiri Hudler-Henrik Zetterberg-Mikael Samuelsson Dan Cleary-Valtteri Filppula-Kris Draper Matt Ellis-Mark Hartigan-Brett Englehardt Mattias Ritola-Evan McGrath-Neil Clark Defense Nicklas Lidstrom-Brian Rafalski (questionable) Niklas Kronwall-Brett Lebda Kyle Quincey-Derek Meech Seems like the organization isn't interested in Grigorenko at all.

The 360 version of NHL 2008 is actually significantly better as far as graphics go than the PS3 version this year. The PS3 version's frame rate can't even hold a steady 30 FPS, while the 360 version runs at a blistering 60 FPS. EA's just very lazy in their programming, and the PS3 is a notoriously difficult system to develop for. I'm kind of a game geek, sorry. The first thing I noticed about the game is how bad the player rankings are, and a complete lack of rookies. Sergei Zubov a 94? LOL. So he's apparently better than Sidney Crosby now, good to know for my fantasy draft!

I don't hear this figure thrown around much here so I'm not sure how well it's known: Hudler had the best goals to time on ice ratio in the NHL last year. Mathematically he would have won the goal scoring title if he played regular minutes. Obviously that does not mean it would have actually happened, as others have said as you get more minutes you go against tougher competition, but it's an impressive statistic any way you slice it. Especially for a kid.

I agree, that's what I meant to suggest by putting next to the best forward in the game comment and juxtaposing it against the negatives.

Well MacLeod sure changed his tune pretty fast. He had nothing but nice things to say about Griggs after the game against Tampa. So what's the story Mac? How does he go from "best offensive forward in the game"... "slowed the game down" to "above average" and "needs to do more to make this team"?

Poor guy, only making more than 20x my yearly salary!

Does anyone seriously think Yashin is going to sign for a small contract this year? He was on pace for a great season last year and always puts up good numbers, better than Chris Drury of Scott Gomez ever have. He obviously has his vices that will drive his value down, but he's a much more valuable player than Todd Bertuzzi right now. He will not be a bargain.

If Holland wants a young, awful yet healthy goaltender, why isn't he pursuing Aebischer?

The Rangers had between 9-13 mil in cap space after the Drury/Gomez signings. Lots or room to spread their legs out. Souray will probably get 6.5 from them if he signs, that's still room to sign Lundqvist and Shanny if they want to hit the wall. With that said, Dear Ken Holland, Please send an offer sheet to Henrik Lundqvist. Sincerely, Red Wing fans

LA had Drury basically signed yesterday, but when the Briere contract went public Drury asked for a longer deal and they didn't give it to him. LA's been active, they just got screwed by Philly.

It occurs to me now, with these contract prices soaring out of control, what a brilliant move the Datsyuk signing was. That's a guy better than Gomez, and we don't have to worry about him leaving for 8 mil + for a loooooong time. EDIT: It would be great if Columbus became a real Red Wings rival... we could have Bloods vs. Crips.

Boston sure has a lot of goalies now. Manny Fernandez Tim Thomas Hannu Toivonan Tukka Rask Joey MacDonald Brian Finley Philippe Suave What a mess. The last three are as of yet unsigned RFAs.

That's a funny quote. Can you link me to the article you read that in?

Split in the tank? Not a chance. The Wings will definitely sweep.

Too many hits to the head for that guy. He was dead serious. He asked "do you think they get them from the detroit river?" in the same voice with which a child might ask "do you think santa gets down the chimney by slicking it with butter?"

Can anyone repost for me Hull's initial comments about Datsyuk not resigning? I missed them.
-
Lang and Maltby will almost certainly be gone this offseason, that's about 5.2 million dollars in cap room right there. If Schneider or Markov don't resign on top of that it opens up another 3.3 or 2.5 million on top of that. Factor in the expanding salary cap (somewhere between 2 to 3.5 million dollars) and we have a theoretical extra 9.7 - 12 million dollars to spend this offseason. I can't imagine why we would not resign Bertuzzi, Calder and Datsyuk with this bounty. We're rich, bi-atch.

I just read that A.O. threw down against Mair tonight after checking Briere into the boards. Anyone see it?
