Boston game starts at 12 pm EST. Wrapped up by 3 pm EST (barring OT). Ty's trade gets finalized during the 3rd period or right as the game ends. Hit the airport by 4 pm. 4 hr non-stop private charter flight to Calgary. Ty gains 2 hours during the flight, going from EST to MST. It's 6 or so at the airport, so Ty has to slip the cabbie some extra Loonies to haul ass to the rink. He arrives just in time to start in his 4th consecutive WC (and his second one that day) at 7:05 pm MST!! HAHAHAHAHA

I can't see how the dollars will work. I'm not saying he's definitely leaving, but short of some Ken Holland MAGIC, he can't fit. Look, I'm going to root for whoever suits up as the 09/10 Red Wings - if that includes Hossa - GREAT! If not, I'll be sad to see him go. No crow here - I have no idea whether he'll be here or not. However, it does make for funny fodder when you're taunting the Pens fans to say he's one and done and thanks for the Cup.

BewareThePenguin, Keep your chin up, there's good news. At the end of this month, Hossa, Chelios and Conklin (and possibly a few select other Red Wings) will all be available as free agents. And at that point, they'll all have "valuable cup winning experience". Feel free to sign away.

I think your thoughts on the Pens fans are wrong. The playoffs ended on 6/4. Hossa was quoted on 6/7 stating he would take less money to get the Cup. link Hossa told the Pens he was checking out his free agency options on 6/21. link Also of note in the article from 6/21. Shero is noted as saying that the offer from the Pens is subject to change if they start committing money to other contracts before Hossa signs. That doesn't sound like they thought he was going to stay. It sounds like they were going with the Holland/Franzen/Hossa process. Whoever signs first, etc etc. Free agency didn't start until 7/1. Hossa signed with the Wings at lunchtime of the second day of free agency. link The signs were there for a week and a half that he was going elsewhere. If the Pens management couldn't get their brains around that, then they're idiots. If the Pens management was that concerned, they certainly could have given him a deadline to respond to their offer(s). However, they didn't. So, by this logic, shouldn't Pens fans be mad at Pens management instead of Hossa?

I made mention of that after early round losses and basically got told to STFU. All the internet tough guys seem to some out after a loss to ***** about the loss, say that the "wings suck" and pick fights. It's kinda ridiculous around here sometimes.
