Don't be so quick to say he shouldn't make a career of it. Stammering idiots like Larry Murphy draw paychecks, why couldn't Manny? In full disclosure, the Vs. games have been blacked out for me since the 200 miles between Memphis and Nashville allow Nsh to designate this is a "home" game, so I haven't seen/heard Manny. I've had to listen to everyone's favorites: Pete Weber and Terry Crisp on FSN South.

I think it's the generalizations about Tennesseans/Southerners that gotten under some of our collective skins around here.

I have an idea for the front that I'm keeping to myself for the moment, but for the back, I'm thinking about: Nashville Predators, stinking like Catfish since 1998. I my head, that seemed pretty funny - how does it look in print? WingsZR2 - I'll be in a white Z jersey hanging out with a guy who looks like Shrek. Unfortunately, I'm sure he'll be wearing the mustard yellow Pred 3rd jersey. Just look for these 2 guys at the Sommet instead of at the Joe where this picture was taken.

I re-read my title and realized that people might think I was/am worried. I'm not. I was trying to be sarcastic while referring to yet another anti-Detroit article/segment.

What part of Mississippi? Comcast Midsouth (Memphis and north Mississippi) does offer CI. Just curious where they are that they wouldn't offer it.

As a former ComCRAPstic customer and current DirecTV viewer, I must point out - Comcrap's not a monopoly if you have another choice- and you do. I was forced to go to satellite after moving to an area with a private, family-owned cable company (Millington Cable) that only rolled out digital cable last year. "Do you have the NHL Center Ice package?" No. I do not regret the switch to outerspace. So much HD content - wow! Even CI benefits from going to satellite - for every game there are usually 4 feeds; away SD, away HD, home SD and home HD. Comcast only had 1 HD CI channel in my area and I never could get it to work since it was an NHL/MLB shared channel and always showed as NOT PURCHASED despite numerous phone calls. And they also offer the NHL Network in SD and HD.

This place cracks me up. Who are you (or anyone on here) to question "how much of a fan" someone is? There may be 50 fans that started liking Detroit yesterday and have NO IDEA of the history. They may be the greatest fans in the world, but you feel you have the right to question their "Fan-ness" because they may not know the minutia of every minute of the Wings' existence? Puh-leez. For the record, I do know what happened on the date in question, but the self-righteous attitudes around here piss me off. We're supposed to be "brothers and sisters" united by the common love of the greatest franchise in all of sports and yet people still have to try and feel superior to others for no apparent reason. /rant over
