Not that I disagree with folks doing their time in the minors before getting the call up - BUT - how come it seems that every other stinking team can but babies on the ice and they (for the most part) do just fine? wait, wait, wait.. Hyman's going to bust into the system? That's going to be a bloody mess. Hope his transition playing with the big boys isn't too painful. Maybe he can split time.

How do you figure? The guy's an asset under contract. All KH has to do is say, "No, we have future plans for Blashill, you may not speak to him." If MB stays, has no one considered the possibility of him mentoring Blashill as an Assistant?

Absolutely not accurate. My personal situation - was on a fire dept. Ready to be chief, rode as chief when chief wasn't around. Got tired of waiting. Other chief opportunity came up at other department. Let my old chief know I was looking - common courtesy - not because I wanted to leave, necessarily, but because it was time to move up. Ended up not getting other chief spot but then old chief retired and I promoted into the position I wanted originally. I didn't WANT to leave department #1, but I needed to test the waters to see what else was out there and to see if, in fact, I was as ready as I thought I was. Babcock's not looking to get promoted, but why - after working this hard to be this ELITE as a coach - would you not want to stick your toe in the pool and at least see what the temperature was? IMHO, it makes perfect sense.
