I think that's the problem. You don't want to be known for a move in the shootout, because when you aren't going to do that move, it's pretty obvious. You want to keep the goalie guessing, and Khabibulin definitely knew what was coming from those two tonight.

100% correct. When players have 1 or 2 go to moves it is very easy for goalies to see when they change things up. It's not that Dats and Z are bad at shootouts, they just get very predictable.

Nope, and its really not close. Since the lockout the lowest point total by a team that made the playoffs is 91. Last year Dallas finished 12th in the west with 83 points.

Maltby is ok on the PK and is an agitator and thats about all he brings. It's nice to have but there are other guys who can handle those duties. As for those of us bring up his point total, think about the law of averages. If anyone thinks he will score more than 5-7 goals this year you are crazy. It just won't happen. If we're leaning on Malts to score 20 then we're in big trouble.

If the wings go 2-18, then yeah, your point is valid. Even if the Wings play .500 is the first 20 games, we can expext to be at most 10 points out of first, not so insurmountable if you ask me. 20 games is a good benchmark to see where you're at as a team. If changes need to be made, I would agree that would be the best time to do it.

Agree with everything you said, and chemistry, I think, is the most important. The anticipation is not there and I think it's because these guys just haven't gelled yet. Nobody seems to be in the right place at the right time.

This team is capable of winning the President's Trophy. So, I would be suprised if they didnt win the dvision or at least have home ice in the first round.
