Don't forget, the roster needs 22 players.
-
well, the wings did lose in 6 to edmonton in 2006, so they had to lose two in a row at some point in that series. positivity is good though.

Abdelkader had 2 extremely fluky goals (pure luck, same could have happened to Maltby). Without those two goals their numbers would be almost exactly the same. Both guys bring energy, both play decent defense. But Maltby has this thing called experience, and i'm sure you would agree, experience is more important than a +/- stat. A difference of 3 in +/- is almost irrelevant.

You don't get it. We're not saying "Here Pavel, take the puck and score 7 goals." Getting Pavel back gives this team so much more depth, right now almost every forward is taking on challenges that they have not seen all year. Everyone's role is reduced when Pavel gets back, meaning everyone has fresher legs.

That doesn't matter, you can't do what John did, not in a 2-2 game in the 3rd it Pit.
-
Yeah, they're dumb, but does it really matter what they think? Or to be more specific, what a few people think, not necessarily all pens fans.
-
why didn't you start it?

DET/PIT: 4-3

It was awesome last year, except for the band they got both times that played the same songs both times, haha. But it was a great experience.

No, not true. He is not a liability, but he's not outstanding. Sammy is paid the right amount. He makes more mistakes and bad decisions than anyone on this team. The man can shoot the puck, but that is about all he has goin for him.
-
2nd best? Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Filppula, and Kronwall are all better in my mind. Hudler is a compliment to others, not a leader.
-
He is far from a great passer, and with these guys on his line he will look like a bad passer. He can make his own space, when he plays his best he is on a line with someone who attracts more attention than him. Having two players who have difficulties handling the puck and aren't good skaters on his line, Hudler will get all of the attention from defenders and he will disappear.
-
Holmstrom - Hudler - Sammy would be an absolutely brutal line. None of them are creators in the offensive zone, they all rely on others to get them the puck. They sure can finish, but without the first pass the opportunities won't be there. Also, none of them are particularly good defensively.

NHL considering making changes to Stanley Cup Finals schedule
Dano33 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Will the times of the games all be at night? Does anyone recall a weekend afternoon game last year in the finals? If they have afternoon games on the 30th and 31th i am gunna be SO pissed. I'll be working at some lacrosse thing those days. Or Carolina could win one. -
He needs a chance to get some consistent playing time. What we have seen from him hasn't been great, but it's difficult to get comfortable when you are called up for a couple of games, then sent down. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. Even with him in net for 20-25 games next season, we are still a top notch playoff team, and he certainly won't be starting in the playoffs.
-
Good effort, but i wouldn't give it an A. The Wings have come out flat in the first couple minutes in almost every period of the series, even with Kronwall and Datsyuk. Maybe they are tired, but it seems like when the puck drops, it is takin them a while to get going.

Don't forget waffleboarded or knifed.

I like Homer's, Maltbly's, and Cleary's.

WCF GAME 2 GDT: Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 3 (OT)
Dano33 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Here you will see Patrick Kane even with Sammy at our blue-line, but about 25 feet behind Sammy when he scores. Seriously, a 3-on-1 and you're gunna glide back to your zone and watch your team get beat. I'm not taking anything away from the goal, it was a great play and a perfectly executed 3-on-1, but Kane could easily have prevented it. -
Shooting for the sake of shooting is not always a good thing, it leads to blocked shots and turnovers. Making the perfect play takes time (which, i can understand, gets frustrating), but i'd rather see 1 or 2 quality scoring chances on the PP instead of a bunch shots from the outside.

Goaltending Priority 1: Stopping the puck . . . . . . 2: Puck Handling 3: Everything else Having a guy who is a good puck handler and not too much of a liability in net is a horrible idea
-
Same goes for the other way around. People see the puck go in the net and assume that player is playing great. Sammy should put the puck in the net, but when he isn't he can look like an AHL player. Goals are nice, a complete game is better, he absolutely is not outperforming our top players (as someone mentioned) because those top players bring so much more to the game that Sammy will never be able to do.

DET/CHI 4-1 PIT/CAR 4-1

The cap probly wont grow that high, and you need two more players. It would be tough to get all of those guys. And if we lose Hossa and Hudler, we will most likely hang on to Leino.
