Good news, will be camping until sunday morning.
-
that happened plenty of times already. I like the way Flip is playing right now, sure he isn't finishing, but he has never been spectacular at it. I feel that he knows he has scorers on his line and he does his best to give them opportunities.

Expecting to have four productive scoring lines is unrealistic. From the fourth line you look for energy, intensity, and hitting to go along with solid defense. They are doing a good job at that.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
Dano33 replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
this playoff year. 3 of 6 are empty netters. -
My buddy mentioned this too me, and i wonder what the rules are about this. Zetterbergs contract has him making $1M per year at the end of the contract. What if they decide to restructure the contract. Say they want to give Zetterberg $2M for his remaining years at that point. It would be a win for Hank because he would be making more, but what would happen to the old contract? Would the old cap hit stand after a restructured contract?

Well, both teams can change pre-faceoff, but the Ref gives each team a certain amount of time to do so. He will stand at center ice while teams are changing lines and at a certain point will put his hand up signaling the away team must stop changing and let the home team finish.

I don't get how two people can see this play in complete opposite ways, it blows my mind. One argument is Ovechkin widened and did it intentionally, and the other is Gonchar widened. I'm guessing it depends on whether you like the guy or not. People see what they want to see. The play was unfortunate, Ovechkin did lead with his knee, but he definitely did not stick it out and try to injure the guy.

Would you want to see Datsyuk and Zetterberg on the bench if we were down 2 so they can get some rest? Definitely not. I would be infuriated if they weren't out there, especially with a two day break coming up. You don't just give up, stranger things have happened than coming back from 2 goals down in the last 2 minutes. All signs point to an injury on this one, but we'll have to wait and see.

I don't understand why the play is over when the ref intends to blow the whistle. The players play until they hear a whistle, not until the play was intended to be blown dead. I really think if the puck goes in before the whistle, it should at least be reviewable. Maybe the ref is done, but the players keep going. Last i checked the game is played by the players, not the refs.

I definately think not having Rafalski is our biggest issue. It makes everything flow so much better having that right-handed d-man on the powerplay. It creates so many more options having him back there. I am going to complain about officiating, but i'm not calling it a bias. It was just bad. The ducks interfere (especially neidermeyer) all the way down the ice, it's subtle, but its still interference. I'm so frustrated right now, i'm almost happy this game is over. The Wings better come back with some intensity, I know they are capable of it.

It rips me up inside to see him like this. I look up to him because of the courage he has shown, doing his best to live a normal life. He is truly a hero.

The gameplan on the road is always different due to not having the last change. They know what to do, they know that sometimes the matchups get screwed up. The wings just need to have control in the faceoff circle. The Ducks did that a bunch today where they won the faceoff and made a change right away.

Never do I want to see Meech play in the playoffs in favor of Chelios. Meech is terrible. Chelios is not great anymore but hes still better than Meech. Plus he's getting very few minutes. Chelios is not the problem. The Wings were unfortunate tonight, they didn't play bad. They will bounce back, no doubt.

I honestly expected to see Brown get a game or two, due to the amount of suspensions they have handed out already, but at the time i wasn't going to complain if he didn't.
-
If Rebiero does that during the game he gets a two minute penalty for slashing. Also, i agree the hit on Hudler was late, and they got it right by sending Brown to the locker room for the night.
-
Rebiero didn't exactly wail on Osgood last year. First instinct, i thought he should be gone for the playoffs. After seeing what osgood did and realizing Rebiero hit him rather softly in the chest protector, i wasn't angry at all to see him escape that one. Osgood did a bit of acting, you know he didn't feel a thing. The hit last night was different obviously. Again though, at first sight I saw it as extremely dirty, but after seeing it again, i really didn't find it to be too bad (at least not as bad as some of us). It's unfortunate Hudler got cut, but i think the 5 and a game fit the punishment.

Every fan believes the league is out to get them. You are making fun of the ducks fans for doing the exact thing some of us are doing in this thread.
-
What's wrong with that? it's a topic of discussion. Talking about whether it is worth a penalty or not is what they're there to do.
-
It has NOTHING to do with anaheim, it's just an opinion from a few guys. CBC is the best, no question. (I don't get TSN, but i would assume they're up there too.)
-
They hit was not as bad as Brashear's. I wouldn't be suprised if Brown escapes this one without suspension, but i'd guess he'll get a game or two.

I wish we wouldn't worry about commercials, mostly because some sort of shot is taken at Bettman. I'm not defending him, but i'm a bit sick of the whining about the damn guy and his "crush on sindy". What matters is the Wings won the cup in 08. Here's an idea, have the championship DVD ready and turn it on during the commercials.

Penalty minutes and average time on ice are very important factors when choosing the best players.
