No doubt in my mind, we would not be in first place without him. And I wouldn't like our chances in the playoffs either. This is not the same team as last year, no matter what the roster says, we need him.
-
Not noticing it at all actually. Cherry decided to take some of his extreme ones one day to emphasize a point, then come back and show what he normally does to make himself look like he has influence on the way NHL and its players act.

Me too, i wake up every morning hoping to come on here and see 13 "Hossa Signs" threads.

I'm not 100% sure if they do this for the wings games, but the 97.1 website might stream them online. It's worth a shot. http://www.971theticket.com/

Streit pretty much can't win it due to the team he is on. Green has points and nothing else, he is basically a forward with no defensive skills. Wideman has a case, but i don't see how it can be better than Lidstrom's, considering most don't believe wideman is the best dman on his team.

Uh, what? I know the numbers are there, but it has to be Mason. Nashville has been competitive in the past and may finish worse than last year. Mason has taken this team from horrible, to a solid playoff team.

Anyone else notice Mickey Redmond's random quote last night?

HAHAHA, i love this one: "He's breathing rare air!" - Mickey is impressed by Maxim Kuznetsov's height. (February 10, 2001) -
I find it hard to believe that the Blackhawks won't get the two more wins needed to make the playoffs according to this. They currently have 83 pts, so i'm assuming you just forgot them.

There is a reason they don't switch sides instantly, it's their gameplan. Lidstrom and Rafalski don't switch sides right away so they can take one-timers when the passes come from down low. Then, if that isn't working or teams are taking that pass away, they change things up and switch sides.

For some reason it seems to me like sometimes the refs try to look good while getting out of the way instead of doing anything they can to stay away from the puck/play. Obviously i don't know this for a fact, but it kinda annoys me.

i have played hockey and i know what you're talking about. But, he didnt even push, cleary lost an edge and phaneuf was in a bad spot.

Not a 5 minute if you ask me, he barely touched him. definitely deserved a penalty though.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl,146740 Ken Holland is expected to present a new tie-breaking rule for playoff seeding at the NHL GM meetings this week. Basically he thinks when teams are tied in points, the team with more regulation wins should get the nod. I think it is a pretty good idea.

It's kinda difficult to work on not turning the puck over if you ask me, they are just being lazy. And backchecking is not the reason we are giving up odd-man rushes, this goes back to turnovers. I understand where you are coming from, but it goes a bit deeper than this.

Yahoo has no streams for tonight, and ATDHE has all three NHL games listed.
-
How can a tie be decided if there are no ties? I think there should be, but only after overtime (and no shootouts).
-
So the standings would look something like: 25-5-6-12-4-2. I dont like it, too complicated.
-
This is what i HATE, to be honest. The game has yet to be decided, you didn't earn anything.
-
Get rid of the shootout make the overtime longer. 10 or even 20 min OT. 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss.

There is absolutely no possible way Draper will ever be a healthy scratch. Do you realize the importance of faceoffs? Playoff experience? Draper will center our 4th line until he retires, no doubt about that. That said, I agree with the rest of your lines.

If NHL players have their feelings hurt because of a celebration after a goal then they don't belong in the league. If they wanna celebrate, then let them. Does it really matter that much?
