Sure they were good crowds, but i wouldn't call them great. There was a time when the wings' crowd was jacked for every game. They had an intensity that i have seen maybe once this year, when downey went out and hit anyone he could find against Dallas, and that lasted about 45 seconds. I'm not saying that i'm bored at a red wings game, but this just makes it even more fun.

Sure, it will still be entertaining, it's the game you love to wtach. But are you saying that the crowd has nothing to do with the entertainment value? C'mon, there is nothing more fun than watching a hockey game when the crowd is going completely insane. However, this is something the Joe has lacked recently, so maybe that has something to do with it...

One of the clips used by Don was when he scored that awesome goal against Montreal. That was a pretty damn sweet goal and all he did was kiss his glove and celebrate with teammates. He certainly isn't a 'circus act', even when he is celebrating a lot. He is having a good time and his Washington fans LOVE it and it gets them goin crazy in that building. I'd love to see the Joe get back to that level for a regular season game, it's been a while.

I think you are tkaing this a little far. It's a General Discussion forum for hockey fans, let them talk about what they want. Not all of us are as regular as you, and when something comes up that interests them (crosby is a good example i think), they come to the boards and talk about it. If you are sick of crosby, just ignore it and let others speak their mind about him, even if it is a bit over the top.

Yes, his fighting technique was worse, and it was posted on here and a lot of us got a laugh out of it. The difference is that both players seemed to be aware that a fight was taking place.

Just to put it out there, goalies don't have to be young to get on a hot streak in the playoffs. For someone to say they would be worried against LA because their goalie is young is pretty dumb if you ask me. Remember Roloson, mid thirties, can't get a puck past him, leads his team to the SCF. Any goalie can do this. Anyway, i don't care who we play in the playoffs, but i can't wait to see, i love playoff hockey more than almost anything.

i dunno, maybe he comes to life when he is playing important games, but what ive seen from him this year is nothin more than what Downey can do.

Why do we want Neil? What does he bring that Downey doesn't? Downey doesn't play at all so i can't see why they would go after someone like this. Am I missing something?

I am thinking about the entire season. Yes, Osgood has been bad, but he's the only one with playoff experience. There is no possible way you can say you would be more confident with Anderson in net rather than Conklin anyway. Conklin has played really well this year. If there is an unproven goalie I want in the playoffs, it is Conklin. That way we wont have to give up players for someone who won't improve our team. It doesn't make sense to trade a productive forward for an unproven goalie. We can't trade picks because we dont have room for extra salary. We have goalies we can bring up and try out next year if we dont want to stick with Osgood/Conklin. Why draft goalies if we are just going to go after other teams' backups?
