So you would be willing to give up our top goal scorer from the playoffs last year for a guy who has never been an everyday starter or played a single minute of playoff hockey? You are crazy. I'll take my chances with Ozzie and Conklin AND a damn good goal scorer.
-
Do you think that Hiller or Anderson can lead this team farther thatn Osgood or Conklin? I certainly dont. And there is no way we will be getting Mason or Thomas for Franzen.
-
We can't get a top 10 Goalie for Franzen. He makes 1.15 Mil. We would have to dump other guys for NOTHING if we want to do that, we then have no depth and NO CHANCE to win the cup. Our best option this season is to stick with what we have. One of our goalies will be capable to take us into a deep playoff run, and possibly another cup.
-
Trading Franzen is NOT an option. We may lose him at the end of the year, but we wont trade him. We wont get a player to replace him with his 1.1 mil salary, we will only get prospects or picks. Neither of those will help us win a cup this year, Franzen can.

That's preseason, check the font on the wings jerseys.

Charging is one of the toughest calls to make for a referee. By no means am I defending clutterbuck, because i think the hit was unneccessary, but his job is to go out and hit people. How else is he going to hit Lebda if he doesn't skate to get there, whether it is to separate him from the puck or to hurt him. The whole "number of strides" argument doesn't really work. The penalty should be based on intent, and it seems possible that the refs view of the play may be very different than someone elses.

Can't complain too much about that.
-
HAHAHAHA, thats exactly what it sounds like.
-
He makes the most mistakes by far, "more frequently" doesn't really explain it. He may put up good numbers for the money he is paid, but his decision making hurts the team. When he hangs on to the puck to long or just shoots randomly he is taking away potential scoring chances for the team. He can be replaced.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=408679 WOW, that couldn't have worked out much better. Two goals, including the game winner in OT exactly one year after his horrible neck injury. How great would that feel.

Ken LOVES mentioning the rule changes. Someone mentioned the commercial thing. When the trapezoid was new, he couldn't help but mention it every time a goalie touched the puck. When D-men take shots he says "64-footer". Overall i think these two guys are great together, they just need to do somethin with Murph and Keating.

I think he was saying the Fedorov DID show up in the playoffs and left no reason for anyone to question that. In the past Hossa has been labeled a playoff no-show, but he turned that around last year.
-
What have you seen from him on the PK that would make you say he is doin well in that role? He doesn't get that much time, really only when there is a double minor or when Lilja got that major. Noone is playing well on the PK right now anyway.
-
Well, it is based on 12 shootout attempts, so you can't really take that number and compare it to a seasons worth of shots.

Good point. In '97 we only had 38 wins in the regular season, and won the cup. Now, obviously this is a different team, but by no means are we going to be out of it even if we do fall to 4th.
-
Wouldn't that make things worse?
-
Eh, jealousy.

Someone will have to go on IR.

Good point, I can see making them go if it was the Fan's decision to send them there, but this is just stupid.
