I was only nine, but when McCarty scored that goal against the flyers word cannot even describe my feelings. Its something i will never forget. There is nothing better than the chills you get from watching that. In my eyes, that was the greatest goal of all time. I mean, McCarty of all people, in the biggest moment in his life, pulled off probably the best move of his life and just went absolutely crazy afterword. It was amazing.

The problem is when he is stickhandling with pressure on him he becomes extremely indecisive. he doesn't know what to do with it when he has nowhere to go. i think he is trying not to make a mistake, and it really isn't working. Plus downey knows he can't stickhandle, i think Sammy hasn't grasped the point that he really isn't that good.

I can honestly say that i have not noticed improvement in his play. As many have said, and many more will say, his shots are worthless and when he has an oppotunity he messes it up. He is not the kind of player that needs to carry the puck around people because most of the time he loses it or makes a bad decision. What we need him to do is dump and chase and do his best to become open, because when hes open he can shoot, but when theres pressure he definately feels it.

Yes, i will absolutely be surprised if we lose. We are a much better team then they are.

Although i don't believe it to be a big deal, i too noticed this about halfway through the 3rd period tonight. however, i probably only notice when wings get kicked out because they are the team i am rooting for.

i like how many people who didnt see what was wrong with what avery did are now trying to come up with stupid ways to make this rule seem absurd. two minutes for acting like idiots should be handed out here

Unfortunately, hits like this don't happen every game. the oppotunity for something like this to happen is somewhat rare. How often is avery brining the puck through the neutral zone with his head down while Phaneuf or Blake are out there ready to step into him. I do agree that this would help, but since it doesn't happen that often, the referees need to step in.

Unfortunately, if crap like this continues, dancing will turn into head breaking. everyone wanted someone from NJ to do something about it. If something like this happens again maybe an opposing player wont be so nice to him to let him off, we might see someone get leveled and suspensions handed out. And it annoys me that many people here thinks this is funny and for that matter they like it. Hockey is supposed to be entertaining but not in a funny or comedic way, if you want to laugh at hockey, go watch slapshot.

If your only intention is to go out on the ice, not be involved in the play and distract the goalie, you don't deserve to be out there. there is a reason he straps on $600 skates and pulls a New York Rangers Jersey over his head. It's because he can play hockey. Anyone who has been on skates in their life could go out and do what avery did.

so arms are not a substantial part of your body? i dont know what i would do without mine. he wasn't just standing there remember, he was doing this on purpose. i can see if you skate by the crease and your elbow briefly breaks the plane, but he knew where he was and what he was doing.

I think it goes back to the rule where you cant be in the crease before the puck. obviously the crease isnt off limits at all times. and just because avery's feet weren't touching blue doesn't mean he wasn't in the crease. if you are hovering over you are still in.

I honestly can't tell you where it states it. McClean read it out of the rule book though. if you want to know you can probably find video of the segment somewhere. the NHL wouldn't need to implement a rule since it already is one.

I may be the only one, but i will try to make my point that this does not belong in hockey and i totally agree with Ron McClean that it should be a misconduct. What avery was doing was not playing hockey. The only thing he was doing is being a distraction. Unlike Homstrom where he is still interested in the play that is going on while being a pest to the goaltender. Ron McClean read the rule which said a penalty would be presented if it countinued after warning (which the ref did). I really hope they don't allow this in the future.
