I can't seem to find a good picture of Al Sobotka with an octopus on the internet, and if anyone has a sound clip of the Wings goal horn that would be great.
-
K, i sent you a message with it in there
-
k, i found one of sobotka, could still use the goal horn though

6 PIM/game X 82 games = 492 PIM Crazy He takes people to the box with him too, so he doesn't leave his team shorthanded as much as it may seem.

Where would the Caps be without Ovechkin? Dead last in the league, no doubt in my mind.

Yahoo is showing a live game tonight. Capitals vs. Flames. Anyway, they have a camera following him around all game even when he is on the bench. They have the screen of just him takin up most of the space, and the rest off the game shoved off into the corner. I think its great that the NHL is trying to show off their stars, but this is a bit excessive. i wanna see the game, not ovechkin shooting off snot-rockets on the bench.

Ok, so i didnt test it scientifically, but yes this all makes sense. When i say people misunderstand it, i mean they think curves have a huge effect on the shot, where you pointed out, it is very minimal, and probably unnoticable.
-
This seems to be a misunderstanding that many people have. The curve on your stick is whatever you are comfortable with. A big curve may help some people shoot better, but a small curve would help others. The amount of curve does not change the velocity or height of your shot. Oh, and Brett could not have been serious when he said that, there is just no way that a different curve would account for 400+ goals. 700 goals is not about a curve, it is about skill.

Ovechkin deserves the Hart. If he wasn't on that team i really think those guys he plays with (Backstrom, sometimes Semin) would be nothing. That team would be nothing without him. He is bringing the Caps to another Level, singlehandedly getting that team in playoff contention deserves a Hart Trophy.
-
No kidding, if you want to use a big curve, then use a big curve, it really isn't that much of an advantage. Shooting ability is greatly favored to talent, rather than your curve.

1. Dino Ciccarelli 2. Steve Yzerman 3. Mario Lemieux 4. Chris Osgood 5. Alexander Ovechkin

I don't remember that one, i was a tad young, but a few years back, when bertuzzi was with the canucks he got a triple minor for 3 slashes.

Aaron Downey in his Dallas days.

Hasek and Rafalski on IR - Ericsson & Hartigan Called Up
Dano33 replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
Normally a team carries 2 goalies, since we had called up Howard we had 3, now that dom is on the IR that leaves a spot open. Therefore, we now have the normal 2 goalies so we called up a forward. -
According to ESPN's insider Hockey rumors Patrick Marleau, Martin Havlat and Tomas Kaberle are added to the list of players that their teams might be willing to move. http://insider.espn.go.com/nhl/features/rumors (you have to have ESPN's insider subscription to see this) I, personally, am a huge fan of Havlats despite his injuries. When he is healthy he makes everyone around him better, which could help out guys like Flip or Hudler, assuming either or maybe one wouldn't be included in the deal to get him. As for Marleau and Kaberle, they are both proven veterans that any team should take a look at. What do you guys think?
-
We do NOT have a playoff spot clinched. LA can still catch us, with 21 games left they can finish with 95 points, which is more than our current 87.
-
You're right, we probably won't get Hossa for those guys. I think the difference between these two situations though is the Thornwon deal was at the beginning of the year without much talk of Thornton being on the trading block. Hossa is now widely known to be on the block near the trade deadline with a lot of teams interested. I guess what im saying is, if there was any chance of getting hossa for those guys, it would have to be out of nowhere when noone else was interested yet.
-
Was that neccessary?
-
The difference is Filpula is on our second line, and datsyuk was on our 4th then. Datsyuk wasn't relied on to score with the load of talent we had. This is why we need to make a deal for a forward at the deadline, like hossa or something, who isn't inexperienced.

What do you think the problem is for our current slump?
Dano33 replied to Lady in REd's topic in General
Trying to make the "special" play and not shooting, oh, and sloppyness. I'm not worrying though, just a little angry and frustrated.
