Babcock needs to rip these guys a new *******. Not only filpula not shooting, but datsyuk just needed to skate and beat that guy instead of making a move. Sometime these guys need to just play, and not be cute and flashy out there. Im not saying i hate when datsyuk makes some guy look like a peewee, but late in the game, when youre down, you just gotta go hard to the net at all times.

Here is a video from yesterdays Vancouver/Chicago matchup. Ryan Shannon does the spin-o-rama thing in the shootout and bumps into Khabibulin at the same time, giving him no opportunity to make a save.

Maybe another example of a double standard/protecting goalies. We get this holmstrom s*** called back today, but a few weeks ago when we played phoenix bryzgalov threw two punches to the gut to (not sure who, probably homer) one of our players and it went completely unnoticed. So to make this clear, minorly brushing a goalie even when he runs into you is illegal, but punches trown by a goalie, perfectly legal.

Just a thought, i think they could do an automatic review every time the puck goes into the net in the last five minutes of a game, regardless of how it happened. I know this would make games last longer, but i would rather them get the call right than have a fast game and see someone get screwed.

I guess i can understand that, i do notice on NHL '07 that he says Zhetterberg. I dont know why but he throws that H in there. I dont play it that often though, so i dont get the overdose that you do i suppose.

Nothin against Ken and Mick, because they are great, but there's noone better than Bob Cole and Harry Neale. Plus Jim Hughson is pretty good on the late game as well.

The be in a stat race for goalies in the NHL it requires you to be on pace to play at least 27 games, why wouldn't TSN use the same standard. I think thats kinda strange.

I like how the Capitals have the best chance at making the playoffs in the Southeast division at 37.4%.

I don't get why people are angry that they changed this. This is going to be way more exciting than its ever been, and the judged shootout is a great idea. This isn't the new system to decide adtual games. It's fake, it doesn't mean anything and it is going to be fun to watch.

This sounds pretty sweet and i like the fact that there will be judging on the "shootout" or whatever we want to call it. Who wants to see an All-star skate in on a breakaway and go fivehole with a wristshot. It makes the players and goalies think, which will make it more interesting.

I am looking forward to watching this, as well as many other hockey fans i'm sure. But seriously, the only time the NHL could've picked that would be worse than Jan 1st is 9 PM on superbowl sunday. Jan 1st is college football day. There are 6 games that day including the Rose, Sugar, and Cotton bowls (all superior bowls). This was very stupid of the NHL, it would've made more sense to put this game on Christmas. The NHL can compete with the NBA, but definately not College Football.
