If the stars dont give up a goal, they win. that said, vancouver 1-0.

with all of these weak hooking penalties getting called, im surprised the league hasnt cracked down more on embeleshments and diving. i have it when you see guys go down like nothing and the refs dont even notice.
-
EXACTLY. regardless of who got the points, there wasn't one red wing that played good tonight.

You're right, he is completely stoppable, we did it in the first two games. however, on that particular play we gave him space, and when iginla has time, he is going to score. just because it was a wrist shot doesn't make it easier to stop either. when guys wind up for a slapper the goalie knows exaclty when its coming, on a wristshot, especially iginla (or sakic) it is quick, and not as easy to time.
-
I would like to see him change the lines. I think a Calder/Filpulla/Bertuzzi combo would be great, and putting Lang with Cleary and Franzen.
-
Honestly, if you put any goalie in that situation Iginla is going to score. When he has that much time to shoot he is unstoppable, even from forty feet. That goal was completely lidstroms fault.

To answer the question, i don't prefer anyone. I don't like to root for a team just so we can play them. Kinda like the situation in the World Series with the Tigers when everyone wanted the Cardinals to beat the Mets because the Cardinals weren't as good. That turned out wonderful. I'm not saying the Tigers could have beaten the Mets easily, because in the playoffs, in any sport, no series is easy. However, i am rooting for the Sharks in this series because i hate the Thrashers more than any team in the NHL. SHARKS IN 6.

yes, there was the junior wings before they became the plymouth whalers i believe. their logo was the same except that it said "jr. wings" across the top of the wing, so i dont think mccarty played for them since its shows he played for belleville in the OHL.

like the one time when cleary apparentlty ran at kiprusoff, even though it wasnt near the crease, and stuart kneed him in the back for it.

We can't forget Langfeld and Ellis.

I belive that a line of Homer, Mule, and Sammy would be a sloppy mess of nothingness. none of those guys are true puck handlers and they need others around them to get them the puck to be productive.
-
well, they are dream lines, so usually they are made up of the best possible players. good call on that one.

a little off topic, anyone else notice that edmonton can finish last in the west? kinda crazy if you ask me.

i don't care if the wings won the cup 28 times in a row, i would still be pissed if they didn't win the 29th.

Dumbest thing you've ever heard another teams fans say
Dano33 replied to theman19's topic in General
im sure a lot of us here are hockey players. i am one myself, and playing really helps me understand the game as a fan. but for some reason, people who dont understand hockey like to make comments about the game play that make no sense at all, and this really irritates me. for example: i was at one of the local hockey playoff games in the league that i play for, to see our competition. a player on one of the teams tried to make a behind the back pass to someone else. it wasnt a good one. the player receiving the puck had to turn around to catch it and ended up in a very awkward position, thus ending any real threat of a scoring chance. however, a guy sitting in front of me decided to declare "That was a nice pass." i really just wanted to stand up and hit the guy, but i was able too keep my cool. ok, maybe i was exaggerating a bit when i said i wanted to hit the guy, but i really hate it when people say stuff like that. -
anyone remember those goals? to tie it he pretty much crosschecked the puck into the net, and the winner hit a defensemans skate and went in. im not saying we should sit maltby, but the reason he is going to play definately isnt for his goal scoring. if you gave me the choice, i would sit sammy.

100% agreed

i think chelios will decide to retire when its the right time. that time hasn't come yet, but he will realize when he isnt able to keep up anymore. chelios will be back next year.

whenever it is, i can't wait. hockey's version of march madness is fifty times better than college basketball. Hockey night in canada just about every night, man am i pumped.

We will be top dogs when we win the cup
