Teams that Should Have Never Changed their Jerseys
Dano33 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they still wear this one. http://gooddealhockey.com/images/oilers.gif I think they have gone to the blue and orange a bit more this year. Hopefully that trend continues. -
Teams that Should Have Never Changed their Jerseys

The Devils definitely should bring back the green trim and pants. Also, the Oilers should go make their 3rd jersey colors their primary colors like it used to be. -
Allowing players to kick makes for more razor sharp blades swinging around the net. If i were a goalie I wouldn't want to have to deal with that.

How do we know Holland stood pat. Maybe he was working on something that didn't go through.
-
This game sucks. Also Bertuzzi sucks. Thanks for that one week in December when you worked hard.
-
His position was fine, he was where he was supposed to be. No matter where you're standing your view of something will be obstructed.
-
Frasier thought he saw contact, otherwise I would assume the goal would count. It's not that you can't be in the crease, you just can't park yourself there and not let the goalie move. I don't agree with the call last night, but Frasier obviously thought he saw contact, so by rule (and his eyes) the call should be made.

Hey, Blues too.... wait, those were just actors in Blues uniforms.

and it's on Versus... great. Go Wings!

http://blog.mlive.com/its-just-sports/2010...ists_annou.html Other finalists here, I didn't even know they were down to 5. They shouldn't have done voting during the Olympics, I haven't watched FSN since the last Wings game on Feb 13, I couldn't care less about the Pistons. The finalists were picked on the 18th.

NHL Rule Change Thoughts while following Olympics
Dano33 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
I agree with this completely. An OT loss should not be better than a regulation loss. You're still playing hockey, if you lose, you lose. The shootout is supposed to be a tie breaker, then and only then should points be divided between teams. -
They look like tanks. I mean, they show how flexible they can be above the ankle, but I bet they're rock hard around the foot. According to them they mold perfectly to your foot, but a lot of companies say that. They aren't the first to come out with the one-piece shell. I guess I'd like to hear more about them, see what the NHLers say. Usually skates will kill your feet for a while before they break in, I'd be interested if these cut that time down.

Babcock is a genius. He's not coaching any Wings so he is trying to force players from every other team into a slump... right?
-
That's not the way I see it. For Bertuzzi to be effective he needs to play with skilled, top 6 forwards. The points he gets are great, but I feel with more effort in the corners and in our defensive zone, he can benefit and others can benefit. If he gets demoted due to lack of effort and is outside of the top 6 he is worthless, he can't put up points by himself. Weather a guy is making 1.5 mil or 6 mil, he should still be working hard out there at all times.
-
At this point, I couldn't care less about how our players stats compare with others. The only thing I care about is winning games and getting in the playoffs. The amount of goals Sammy scores shouldn't matter, because we can't do anything about it now.
-
It shouldn't matter how much he makes. If he is getting top six minutes he needs to show some effort out there. Unless he has the puck on his stick with a chance to go to the net, he is a floater. He doesn't work hard in either zone, offensive or defensive. His stats may look ok for a 1.5 mil guy, but the amount you make shouldn't determine how hard you have to work.
-
Any time you miss the net on a penalty shot it's a horrible attempt. He's the last guy I would take out of the shootout obviously, but I believe he could be scoring at a rate of 60%. Sometimes I think he tries to be too fancy and makes bad decisions, which is very uncharacteristic of him.
-
I'm not trying to make excuses for the Wings, because they aren't playing anywhere near the level they need to be. But Hossa, Sammy, and Hudler aren't easily replaced. Yeah We still have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Franzen (who's only played 5 games), but to say we have the same offensive core is ridiculous.
-
f*** my heart. I'll take a hectic playoff run anyday.
-
I'm sorry, but you're dead wrong.
-
Can't hurt, we're not winning anyway. If it's broke, I would certainly try to fix it.
-
This ******* pisses me off. Our shooters give themselves horrible opportunities to score. It's like they want to pull off a great move so everyone will talk about it if they score. I wish one time, every shootout guy would go in and shoot, no dekes or anything. They get too damn cute out there and sometimes you need to just bury it.
