I actually think Meech has done a decent job moving the puck on the powerplay. Sure he's not the best, but i think he's doing fine. The powerplay isn't all about shooting. Who knows, maybe he's outplaying Stuart in practice when it comes to the powerplay.

Not so fast my friend. I have now surpassed him by 1.

Larry Murphy at 2:21. Getzlaf is awesome, I have a hard time hating him. Perry bugs me though, he tries to act tough but he's not.

Toronto's explanations make it worse. Here's what I take from the explanation: They didn't deny that he tried to direct it in, he just wasn't quick enough. That seems a but suspect to me.

Even though it's a 12:30 start for me, It'll still be early because of the Aussie final at 3:30 am. The Wings will score 1 more goal than the Penguins.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have a really cool stadium and I would assume a player or two from the Penguins has been there.

Please turn off your TV and go to bed, you seem cranky.

The Wings will score two more goals than Nashville.

Chris Osgood proves Jimmy Howard should be in goal for Red Wings

The difference is Osgood did this last year too, when he was getting steady playing time. He's had chances to get in his groove. -

I agree. I don't ever want to see fighting banned, but something has to be done about this. If you play the puck then other players are allowed to hit you. The hit was clean as can be and wasn't even that hard, if Nystrom can't handle that, then he shouldn't be playing.

Mario was better.

When we're out of the playoff picture. I'm not blaming everything on injuries, but we have to see what this team has when everyone is healthy. There is no need to panic right now, teams in much worse positions than us have fought their way into the playoffs before.
-
If Howard continues to play better than Osgood to the point where Osgood only gets 2-3 starts a month (continuing the current trend), then Babcock would be insane to give Osgood the nod in the playoffs, even on a short leash. Osgood will have done nothing to prove he is the better goalie, plus he will be cold. You can't afford to just hand over momentum to your opponent (we all know how that works out).
-
No, they don't. He's playing at the same level he did last regular season. He doesn't make big saves and he gives up a weak goal every game. 2.83 and .896 is horrible, just like 3.09 and .887 is horrible. He doesn't get a pass because it looks like his stats are less bad than last year. He won't be able to turn on his playoff switch forever, and there's no way of knowing it will automatically happen this year. If Howard is still miles ahead of Osgood come playoff time, Howard better be in net.

There is no way that could possibly work. First of all 1-1 for two minutes would be incredibly tiring, and with only half the ice its a disadvantage to one team if you would even allow line changes. Also, who plays goalie? Bring in some neutral guy? But, maybe you were just joking.
-
There's a reason why the last 2 minutes of basketball games take forever. It's because those are the only 2 minutes in the entire game that matter. The rest of the game it just a bunch of guys trying to prove how cool they are.

People that whine about the attention that Crosby gets. Guess what? You're giving him even more attention by bitching about it.

Well goalies are sissies, but that's not the point. Goalies should not be fair game because they play the least replaceable position. Not many teams can survive without their #1 goalie and they don't want to see them getting injured because they got body checked. In this case, however, I see no reason to blame Janssen. He didn't run Price, he was going after the puck and tried to avoid him. Had he waited for price to play it, then go and lay him out, there would be a major problem.

You know Franzen personally? It will mentally effect his game? How do you know that? Its not football where you have guys diving at your knees all game. Even if Franzen doesn't come back at full speed, he is still better than current roster players and can eat up more minutes and give our top guys a few less shifts. I believe Franzen and Kronwall are our tickets to the playoffs, whether they're 100% or not.
-
What's wrong with that? We're keeping close with a depleted roster. People say that Franzen and Kronwall aren't going to be saviors when they come back, but we don't need them to be. We need them to be themselves, give us depth, and if they can do that we will start to move up the standings. I realize that the injury excuse has been beaten to death, but if we're keeping pace with teams now, what happens when we're healthy?

Bertuzzi blew it. No dumb penalty, no Caps momentum, Wings still lead, plain and simple.
