Williams - A+ He did us a huge favor by playing his way out of the lineup.

I disagree, you don't dive unless someone is hooking you, even if it is a slight hook. We all know there are some pretty weak calls out there.
-
You're probably one of those guys that says we should just get Ryan Miller, you know cause the Vezina winner is available.
-
NOoooooo. That means (probably) games on Tuesday and Thursday. I have a Final that Thursday from 8-10. F the Eagles.
-
I don't see how it isn't beneficial to have a right-hander and a left-hander out there. One-timers are key on power plays and when Rafalski and Lidstrom switch it gives each of them a possibility to take it. You're right to question me when I say they need the right-hander out there, but I think it's still an advantage over having two lefties, even if it is slight.

I agree, we will win. We just aren't the kind of team that lets other teams get to us. We are able to forget bad performances and come back with a great one. Go Wings!
-
I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I'd rather stick with the lines we had. Just because they didn't score on their 3 shifts together doesn't mean there's no chemistry. I see it as a desperation move though. I don't think Babcock puts them together unless we're trailing in the 3rd next game.

I did not like Schneider. I often thought he shot too much, instead of sometimes looking for a set-up that could lead to a better scoring chance. People give Rafalski too much s*** around here and he does make some mistakes, but I think he is the perfect partner for Lidstrom on the power play. Wrist shots are much more accurate and easier to deflect and it goes along well with Lidstrom being the slap shot guy on the other side. I wish they would leave Rafalski out for the whole 2 minutes on the power play because we need that right-handed shot from the point. Bottom line is, Rafalski is not our problem. He wasn't today and he hasn't been since he's been here. Maybe he isn't worth 6 mil, but overall I think he has been very good for us.

I'd like to see them divide up conferences like Baseball and Football, so there would be an East, a Central, and a West division in each conference. I don't really know how it would all work out, but I would be in favor of that.
-
Although I don't think the Sens are much of a test, they do look pretty unstoppable. The Caps are the only team that has chance in the east.
-
Me too, haha.

Why does it matter what the chant is, as long as we are supporting our goalie. If you want my opinion i would say Jimmy over Howie, but I will go with whatever everyone else is chanting.

0 < Coyotes < Red Wings

Let's call Ken Dryden, he's got 6 rings. If you would honestly rather have Osgood in net than Luongo then you are the crazy one.
-
Osgood got 21 starts and won 1/3 of them. Even when he was getting playing time he was doing the team no favors.
-
We also know that Howard is the reason we are in the playoffs, not Osgood. We know that Osgood wasn't given a single start down the stretch until we clinched a playoff spot. I don't know how anyone can argue in favor of Osgood when Jimmy has had 3 tough games, and Osgood was bad for the entire season. It's not Babcock's fault for not playing Osgood, it's Osgood's fault. The Wings needed to win and Osgood couldn't do that for us. I love the guy, but I just don't think he has anything left.

I wish somehow Anderson was the last to touch it(i know he wasn't). 50+ saves and the OT winner, that would be somethin.
-
Fair enough, I can't say I'd be disappointed.
-
There just aren't that many players like that available. I'd love to get a couple, but those guys usually get resigned before hitting free agency. Teams won't let them get away. We need to find them and draft them.
-
We have guys like that (Helm, Eaves, and Miller come to mind). Are you looking for players with more offensive touch? Because I don't think it'll be easy to find guys like that. Who do you have in mind?
-
How do you know? How could you possibly know? Why is it assumed that Osgood will be ok. Why do you think that the team will automatically play better in front of Ozzie when the opposite has happened all year? I'm an Osgood fan, always have been. Hell, I've been wearing my Osgood jersey for 14 years, but there is absolutely no way we can go to him. I hate when people say "look at the past two years, he turned it on in the playoffs". I won't argue that isn't true, but there's no guarantee he will turn it on this year. He's getting old, players decline as they get older, and I can't justify playing a 37 year old guy in the playoffs who gave up countless weak goals in the regular season (worse than last year imo) and couldn't even be counted on to give Jimmy a break. Howard is the future, he has to learn to play through adversity. If we yank him now, or at some point during game 4, he will not be able to grow. Especially since the guy who would be replacing him did nothing to deserve a single minute of playoff time this year.
-
So... which of those three guys are making 7.5 mil? Franzen makes 3.9 and Sammy makes 2.5, more than double? The reason Sammy is playing well is because he gets to play with the Sedins and he is flourishing in a good situation. He didn't have that chance with us. If we did keep him, he would not have approached 30 goals.
-
Rafalski, I'd leave him out there for 2 minutes. He doesn't play much on the PK so double up on the PP.
