I don't know if I'd call it a "hit" but I do agree this is where the respect thing comes into play. Some of you are making this a much bigger deal that it is though. Richards or Cooke's hit was way dirtier IMO and are hits definitely lacking in respect. Good on the Caps for coming back to win that game though, why can't the Wings ever pull something like this off?

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Maybe after this the NHL will learn, and I don't think it's just about money but the way the league is run in general that drives players away. The problems with officiating in this league are a joke and I think many other players feel the same way. With the cap going down, and players getting more money to play in their birth country, are you really surprised they decide to leave? But hey, this is "the best league in the world" right? In all likelihood some NHL team will probably be willing to pay him what he wants. Doesn't matter though, Don Cherry told me Canadians are the best anyway.

I'd agree with him. USA hasn't played that well even if they are 3 - 0. Even Burke came out and said it. Russia is just plain scary with Malkin, Ovechkin, and Datsyuk alone.

Anybody see the look Roenick gave Milbury when he choose Sweden to beat Finland (intermission of USA/Canada)? My friends and I had to replay it a couple times because we were laughing so hard. Of course, Finland still lost but it was a funny to see Roenick make Milbury's prediction seem idiotic. Him and McCarty needs to be on Vs. and NBC games more often to balance the lunacy.

You guys are acting like Canada had an awful game. Miller played amazing, the team blocked shots and cleared rebounds. How about the team's captain, who should of rallied his troops and played a flawless game but his giveaway directly led to Rafalski's first goal? The "great" Sidney Crosby scored a goal but him and Nash had a team worse -3 plus/minus Or how about Thorton's linemate Marleau, who had 6 shots on goal but failed to deliver? Everybody on Canada's roster is playing like s***. Brodeur 18 saves to Miller's 42? Shall I keep going?

I remember a year or two ago TSN had a "who would rather have to build your team around?" type question between Ovechkin and Phaneuf. I couldn't believe how many people choose Phaneuf.

Obviously, I hope Howard wins but if not then Matt Duchene should get it. Colorado has been in the playoffs mostly all season because of offense from guys like him. Although his +/- needs some work.
