Osgood's a good guy, really?! With that last thread about his comments on playing time, I never would have thought! Maybe it wasn't the right way to go about it but the fans at least need to respect him when he has something to say. He deserves that much. It's amazing some of the things said about him here, and it really shows some of the "fans" true colors. There are teams around the league that deal with much worse with players being unhappy or saying stupid things (Heatley, Phaneuf, now Kotalik, Avery debacle last year and the list goes on) I know this season has brought in a lot of frustration, but some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Osgood loves this team no matter what and that's more than I can say about some of you.

I love Patrick Eaves. I was very happy when we signed him and I couldn't understand why people still found a way to complain about a guy signing what is basically an AHL contract. He works his ass off, leading in +/-, and I hope we resign him long term because I want to get his jersey.

That's funny and the comparison to children is not far off. To answer your question specifically about Hawks fans, they are: A) Not embarrassed to be a Hawks fan anymore B) Have years of insecurity issues built up about their team and have to get it out C) Think we have been rivals for years, but really nobody really cared about the Hawks until last year. Prior to that topics around here involved people feeling sorry for them that their owner was "Dollar Bill" Wirtz. It's not that Wings fans don't think the Hawks are rivals now, but prior to last year none of us really cared or feared the team. Our rivals were teams like Anaheim, San Jose, or Pittsburgh. I remember in 2008 the Hawks beat us a lot in the regular season and every single one of their fans would bring this up. It like they viewed their season a success based on beating the Red Wings. The Hawks didn't make the playoffs and the Wings won their eleventh Stanley Cup. So you may be able to talk s*** now, but remember your team still has a lot to prove and you can't always be the best forever. Now I know your completely full of s***. Hawks fans do it all the time, granted it's not loud booming cheers that you're thinking but they slip it in before the drop of the puck all the time. It's nothing more than Hawks fans being jealous all these years.
