Who do we try for next?

I'm all for Kotalik as long as the deal is reasonable. Otherwise, wait until the trade deadline and play some tight defense.

Right on, point being we need someone that can shoot. Kotalik seems to fit that mold, everybody seems high on Tanguay but his downside is that he doesn't shoot enough. I think he actually had less goals than Kotalik last season and paid at a much higher price.

    Predict The Wings Next Season

I'll give the first two for sure. Barker and Hjalmarsson I like, but I'd rather have our Stuart - Kronwall pairing. But yes, Campbell is mediocre and his 7 million+ is fuuuuuuuuuuny.

    Predict The Wings Next Season

Yeah... you people are over reacting. I voted essentially what was last year...95 - 100 points, 2nd seed, and three 30 goalers in Z, D, and F Second seed is generous if all the supposed favorites are as good as expected (i.e. Chicago, San Jose, etc.)

Hasn't he played for only those two coaches in his career though?

Dude...just shut the f*** up.... First, your reading waaay to much into what I wrote. Second, I was merely stating that I'm over Hudler. Third, to answer your question, well I can't. Mostly because it's set up to make me look wrong but also because the circumstances are different. Would I rather work for a company with a better pay raise? Sure. If that original company brought me into the field but couldn't bring me any success? Sure, I'd leave. But what if the company can't give me a pay raise now because of hard economic times? What if all my best friends are there, I'm at one of the most successful companies in the world, they taught me everything I know, and I know eventually my loyalty will be rewarded? I'm not so sure. Circumstances are different, if I was an NHL caliber player I would rather play for the team that drafted me, had faith in me, developed my game, won a cup with, almost won another, and now wants me to play a top six role. It's not like the guy has to sign under value for 15 years. I don't know, I'm different that way. To me, if I'm living comfortably and I'm happy to go to work everyday, I don't care that an "unbiased" person thinks I should get more. I don't need more. GET IT?

    Saku Koivu to Anaheim

Koivu got so much crap from Montreal fans, now he can just chill out and play his game.

Bigger guy with supposedly a cannon of a right shot. I say screw Hudler and his childish games.

    Alex Tanguay...

Yeah, even with a pay cut, someone would be need to be moved to fit him in.

    Fil's Play

Throw that in your friend's face! Hudler more dominant that Flip last playoffs? You kidding me? I would forget Hudler was playing at times.

    Claude "Turtle" Lemieux retires

I remember reading in Blood Feud how Claude got tips from someone so he could eventually stand up to McCarty, can't remember who it was though. It fits. Stop the tape! This kid needs to be locked away! (Get him!) Dr. Dre, don't just stand there, OPERATE! I'm not ready to leave, it's too scary to die (f*** that!) I'll have to be carried inside the cemetery and buried alive (Huh yup!) Am I comin or goin? I can barely decide

    Yzerman GM in Chicago soon?

Pretty much this. The same goes for Nill too.

    Havlat?

You know somebody was going to do it. HELL NO

    Khabibulin to Edmonton

Let the "blowing up in the Hawks face's" begin!
  16. What? Coffey was still good when he was traded, and I remember many Wings fans being not too pleased with Scotty after getting rid of him. Good thing it worked out. Granted, he didn't do much after but neither did his teams. Your absurd.
  17. Sergei Fedorov anyone? He was still good when he left but never the same player.

Three players gone... what's next for Wings?

Man, I would have really liked to see Knuble in a Wings jersey again. LAME.
  19. Well said, I'm actually really optimistic about next season. How many teams have been able to keep their core group of players following a cup championship and another finals appearance? We have come a long way with essentially the same group of guys getting it done. In 2008 I really had a feeling about the team, they were so motivated throughout the regular season after being burned by Anaheim in the playoffs. Even throughout massive injuries they still went on to capture the President's trophy. I want to see that hunger again this season, and not the sloppiness that was last year. Maybe having Hossa around made the Wings feel a little cockier then they should of been, but I just hope this regular season sparks more effort. Howard, this is your time to shine.

    All "stay calm" threads merged

If we are able to sign both Leino and Hudler, nobody is coming here. That's a big if though, so count on one gritty forward at best. I like to think it's Neil or Madden, but we shall see how the first problem plays out.

    OFFICIAL: 12y, $62.4m makes Hossa a 'Hawk

Different worlds indeed, and I know what you are saying. In my world, I see a person who was offered 40 million dollars but wanted 12 more. I see it, and it makes me sick.

I suppose, but I don't buy that myself. A grocery bagger will struggle to come up with rent money, an executive will be planning his next vacation to Tahiti.

I know you are right, but I guess I hold hockey players to a higher standard. Unfortunately, idealism doesn't hold water in the real world, so I guess I'll just stick to being dissapointed.
