I have to ask, how this would be clear? If I understand the rule correctly, then Datsyuk and Lidstrom would have still been suspended for not showing up. I don't think it would of mattered since those two still broke a NHL rule.

Eh, I think Ken Campbell's article on The Hockey News is worse. Basically, he's saying Lidstrom is disrespecting the game and bares no interest in whether Nick is actually injured. I just don't get it, there is no one who speaks of the experience of attending an All-Star Game with more reverence than Lidstrom, who always called it it a huge honor to play in. The only reason this is happening is because of this new rule.

He didn't even get invited to be an All-Star initially. And anyway, Nick is also a guy that has been on this team for about 17 years and is our capitan, YES HE HAS EARNED SUCH A THING. Is is not getting through peoples heads that Nick is actually injured?

If I was building my team on NHL 09 for 360? Fedorov. If I was building a team? Datsyuk for sure. Work ethic/attitude is a big one for me. As good as Datsyuk is, he still seems like a pretty humble guy. Don't get me wrong though. Fedorov was amazing to watch, and I still liked him even when he left. Fedorov was a show too, from his contract negotiations to him whining about ice time. Would you really want Fedorov in the salary cap world? Now, I don't totally blame him as he was a star and that can get into your head. I know he had his issues with Anna which played a part in him leaving. I take Datsyuk because he's someone I can trust, and his skills, while different from Fedorov, are still very very effective.

The background music was epic. Pierre's interruptions durring Mike's point was further proof that he is a huge ****** bag.

I agree, although sometimes the problem is that they are asked the say damn questions every time. Like, what do you guys have to do to get back in this game? How are you going to hold the lead? It's all routine for them. While players could mix it up, there isn't much else they can add besides an occasional joke.
