It's funny, because a lot of my friends are Wings fans but when they are over, they talk, and I get pissed at them because I can't hear what Ken and Mick are discussing. First off, Stoll and Torres would probably find suitors in the Eastern conference. I can't imagine Lowe trading with anyone in the West unless they had a deal he really liked. This is all assuming they are available, which I doubt. I can't imagine Holland wanting to move anyone off our roster right now, butI think it will be another interesting trade deadline this season.

I came across an old SI article that featured the Wings at the start of the 98' cup season. To this day it brings tears to my eyes what Konstantinov and Mnatsakanov and the team as a whole went through. What a tragedy...I mean can you imagine battling side by side with Vladi for weeks to win hockey's ultimate prize and bring a cup home after 42 years, only to hear days later your friend and teammate is brain dead? Honestly, I don't know how some of those guys handled it, and I'm guessing off the ice a lot of them couldn't. Also, I had forgotten that Fedorov hadn't signed a contract yet and the Wings started that season without him. Sorry if bringing this up pissed anyone off, but it's always good to appreciate this team's past. Good or bad.

I depends on who we would of traded, but the Canadiens traded Patrick Roy and Mike Keane to the Avalanche for Andrei Kovalenko, Martin Rucinsky and Jocelyn Thibault. Seriously, what a steal that was. Roy was worth more than both those players...but Keane too? Of course, Keane was chased out because he refused to learn French.

I remember reading in Blood Feud that the Wings were interested in Roy. Ultimately management felt that his antics in Montreal and the recent decline in his game wasn't enough to pursue him. The Wings were also pretty comfortable with Vernon and Osgood. I do remember Scotty saying they probably should of traded for him.

My two friends are at my house, they trying to tell me the Wings played a couple games in a black jersey. I think this is bulls***, and I've tried finding somthing on Google but I haven't. I know our jerseys are built on pride and tradition so it's hard for me to imagine this has ever happened. Somebody settle this for us and tell has this evered occured in Red Wings history?
