That goal was important after all the pressure from Nashville.

Nashville's PP doesn't really scare me with Sullivan and Erat out.

No predictions for me. Just getting really drunk, and hoping for a Bertuzzi goal.

    TSN Player Rankings

I like reading the team rankings, but I don't pay much attention to player rankings . Vincent Lecavalier and Joe Thornton should be much higher though.

Osgood vs. Nashville, Hasek vs. Dallas

Go Osgood. I'm happy he is starting. He might not be Hasek, but I thought he played amazing in his last game against Nashville and probably kept us in it. He has a very competitive nature and I think he will be just as ready this game. Have faith people.

    Tigers are the new Wings?

You know, I was never a fan of baseball. I just don't get it. It's not entertaining to me in the slightest. Maybe it's because my parents are European and never really liked it either, or maybe I just don't like it. I'll always support Detroit sports, and it's cool it see our teams win, but I'm not going to go out and buy a Tiger jersey because they went to the World Series. When I came to WMU in the fall though, for people here, it was a different story. Before the Tigers went on their run, not many people were wearing Tiger apparel or enough to really make me notice. The Tigers beat the Yankees, and bandwagon decided it was a good time to piss me off. Guys started wearing Tiger jerseys of players they knew nothing about. I asked a girl who had pink D hat on who were some of her favorite players and she could only name Ivan Rodriguez (Then she said "but at least my hat is in style" and giggled :puke: ) I don't understand how you can pay money for a team's merchandise in which you know nothing about. I would be embarrassed especially if people started asking me questions about the team. I was born in Detroit and I love all the teams and support their success, but when the Tigers started winning I was not going to jump out and buy their s*** because it's "in style." Are we so shallow as fans to float from team to team and base our fashion on their success? If the correct answer is yes, just wait until the Lions start winning. :nonono:

    Any news on Zetterberg?

If he technically is ready to go now, and he takes the extra rest until Sunday, It's not a bad idea for him to get four games in before the playoffs. Hank will need at least a few games to get his timing back. Four games with a full lineup would also give Babcock time to figure out who's sitting.

    Playoff Start Date

Will all the games be televised on FSN Detroit? If I have to watch the playoffs on Versus every night, I swear to god I will take a bullet to the head.

Hasek is "crazy" like a champion

Great read loo, thanks. Holland's quote sums up Hasek real well. Heart of a champion.

Hockey Fights are a Double-Edged Sword

He also thinks Ken and Mick are among the best announcers in the league. Buccigross was always my favorite analyst, and he was so good on NHL2NIGHT. I miss all the catch phrases and pet names he had for players. "THE TWISTED WRISTER" Classic

Hockey Fights are a Double-Edged Sword

As usual, John Buccigross is great. If you missed his column on the Saskin and Simon dealings, definately read it. BTW, I love his mailbags...

    VILLE NIEMINEN

If the NHL had the balls to take action ealry on, maybe players like Chris Simon would think twice about what they are going to do. Maybe not Ville's hit specifically, but in general.

    Islanders' DiPietro out indefinitely

With their playoffs hopes gone, so is Ted Nolan's chance at a Jack Adams Trophy.

    Datsyuk is the goal scorer

The good thing about Pavel this year is he has become a good defensive player..our options on the PK in the playoffs seem really strong with Pavel, Zetterberg, Cleary, Calder, Draper, Maltby, Franzen, etc.

    Datsyuk is the goal scorer

No! ..I want it to be Lang!

    Hank Skating 100 MPH!

Does anyone think that Zetterberg coming back with a few games left in the season is a good thing? The uncertainty of a back injury sucks, but I think Henrik coming back could be a snowball of motivation and confidence Detroit can ride into the playoffs.

3/26 GDT: vs. Anaheim Ducks, 7:00pm

Ken Kal was gushing over Datsyuk's defensive play. It makes me happy to hear he played a good two way game.
