Very much agree with that. Especially since most Wild fans are just hockey lovers in general. I'd say about the majority of the Pens/Hawks fans I've met have started watching their team within the last 5 years.

Wasn't the original question "would you trade Getzlaf for Zetterberg?" So I have a few... 1) Why is the OP getting so blasted for a interesting question that has almost no chance of ever panning out? 2) Zetterberg is a great player. Getzlaf is a great player. They both pretty much had the same season and both have strengths and weaknesses. Age is a factor, but so is Zetterberg's underrated abilities. Whatever it is that you want in a team. Is this that complicated for all of you? 3) How come whenever there is a discussion like this everyone proceeds to blast the 'other' player? It's like these people who like say how much Sidney Crosby sucks. He's a talented player and can handle himself off the ice. Do I want him to win even one game? No. Maybe that's a bad example.... Can the people who don't want Modano clarify a little bit? Is it because you want to be sure Ritola has a shot on this team? Is it possible to still retain him if Mike is signed? I mean, injuries are still going to happen no mater what so somebody will have to come in eventually. And please don't give me any of this loyalty to Dallas crap. They spit on him when they took his C away and told him his time there was done. Can you imagine this team doing either of those things to Yzerman or Lidstrom? If he wants to end his career in his home state, and bring in hard work and motivation to the team (a la Dallas Drake) then I see no downside to this.

Thanks for starting this topic as I was going to start one similar to it. Simply enough, the majority are band wagoners. I'm aware the Wings have had their share but any arena that you could hear crickets at less than two years ago means either they cleaned the dust on their jerseys or they probably still have the tags on them. You don't watch too many Hawks vs Wings games at the United Center then I take it?

I agree with you. The problem I have is when someone says stuff like this doesn't bother them and we should all "relax" (or not get so worked up about Crosby) but then gets sensitive like a 16 year old school girl.
