    Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

I find it funny how much other teams fans talk s*** about Bertuzzi but when it comes to the Red Wings, no team is more abused by oppossing cheapshotters.

Why do other NHL teams' fans hate the Wings?

I hate the 'Yankee' comparison. The Yankee's throw limitless money at the best players and are also still able to make ridiculously stupid decisions. The comparison I see is they win, and the Wings win. That's were it ends for me. I've had fans from other teams try to tell me the Wings 'bought' cups pre-lockout but the truth is the core of our team were players were drafted because of smart people like Jim Devellano. The NY Rangers had one of the highest payrolls in the league and still couldn't make the playoffs. And yet, post lockout the Red Wings are now enjoying a 19th straight playoff appearance. Are Wings fans arrogant about it? Sure, but at least it's for good reason. Chicago fans already think they won the cup, and conveniently remembered they have an arena and a hockey team that plays there.

Amazing isn’t it? In Jimmy Howard's rookie season he has managed to outplay Osgood for the starter position, took on the pressure of being a Detroit Red Wings goalie, punched Crosby, carried the team when up to 9 roster players were injured, was a key part in achieving a record 19th straight playoff run, is a Calder Trophy candidate, had a great first round including his first ever playoff shutout, and still remains to be pretty humble about all of it. Jimmy, you had me at ‘punched Crosby’.
  9. Yandle should take a tip from Keith Ballard and be pissed at his own players.

Bring on the Sharks --- Again!

This will be a a series that will really test the Wings' defense. My only worry is the size of San Jose's forwards, especially when we saw what someone like Doan can do if they establish themselves physically. Franzen needs to score and power his way to the net. Big plus is Nabakov, I think he is one of the most overrated goalies in the league. His sloppiness led to Boyle scoring on his team, not the other way around. From Yahoo:

I agree with you 100% and the transition to becoming a Wings goalie can be a tough one whether it's a rookie or a veteran. I'm not so sure Howard would be where he is right now without Osgood's support (and he's said this himself).

How Does a Goalie Stop This?

Modest but correct. This is a game of bounces and the first goal goes off a Yote skate almost perfectly to Datsyuk's stick. His move on the second is just as awesome as the quick transition of Raffie to Zetterberg who makes the perfect pass to Pavel at the line. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

I agree, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the puck was supposed to hit the ice on a face off? Look like Fiddler just shot it in mid air..

    Suspend Hossa?

Can't believe I'm typing this but I agree with Pierre, the trapezoid is one of the worst rules ever adopted by the NHL. As if no-touch icing isn't dangerous enough.

    Automatic Chara suspension recinded

Then can someone explain to me Malkin and Crosby last year? Wasn't the whole point of that for them to send a message to the Wings? I don't remember what the league had to say about it.

    Bryzgalov kicks an octopus

True, but it I think it means overall series bad luck. I mean the freak injuries aren't helping them are they?

    Pierre's thoughts during commercial breaks

This is the most annoying thing that Pierre does IMO. I wonder if he's self aware of all the hate throughout the league for him.

    Fans more paranoid than ours

People keep saying this, but Boyle's pass went off a stick and Nabakov is a overrated piece of garbage that wasn't covering his post.

    Bad Defensive Errors

The team just isn't play together as a unit. I've seen Mickey point out many times in the past that when a defenseman like Rafalski or Stuart would pinch, you could bet a forward would recognize this and bust his ass back to cover him. It's just good hockey sense and being in sync with your teammates. I also think it's very important to the remainder of this series how Datsyuk plays and if he can make room for himself. 2 points in three games, and -2 plus/minus last game is unfortunately not good enough for the top forward on the team. I don't know guys, sometimes I just feel like this team is out of gas over two long postseasons and now a long 2009-2010 season that involved injuries and an intense late season push.
