Coffee alone doesn't have any calories. If you are adding sugar and cream then you are probably around 80 calories a cup. I'd guess to maintain you should be eating around 1800-2000 calories. If you are trying to lose weight, I'd cut that down by 300 and workout in addition. But anything less than 1500 would most likely result in slowing your metabolism, making weight loss (and muscle gain) that much more difficult. If your below that base amount your body goes into "starvation mode" - it doesn't believe it will get the calories it needs so it burns less and will start to metabolize muscle (not fat). This makes weight loss very difficult and you end up losing muscle instead of fat, if you can manage to drop any weight.

If I saw them in person, I would have a hard time resisting the urge to pinch their cheeks off. Very cute.

Eating that low on calories (especially if you're working out) is horrible for your metabolism. I'm not sure for your gender/weight, but for me a female/125 I should never go below 1200. When you are below, gaining muscle is near impossible. You may lose weight, but you will lose muscle and fat - and no matter how much you lift your body will have a hard time building muscle if you're that low.

An inch off the waist is awesome. Seriously - inches matter way more than pounds I think. Sometimes it can take a few weeks for the scale to show something even if you've been doing everything right. Calories are sneaky though too - it's so easy to go over. If you are eating a lot of processed foods, your sodium intake may be high. Try to drink more water to balance out the high sodium. It sounds counter productive, but when sodium is high and your retaining water, you have to drink more to STOP retaining.

I'm still on the weight loss track! A couple months ago my goal was 15 pounds by the wedding. I got to 11, which I was more than happy with. Then I gained 2 pounds on the honeymoon. I just got back into it this week. It was easier for me to workout before the wedding, because I was training for 10K so I just followed the training schedule and added my own mix. 4 days cardio sustained (30 - 60 min), 2 days cardio high intensity interval training, 2 days with strength also, 1 day of rest. This worked well for me. Although, I really need to watch my food, and that's hardest for me. I pretty much maintain when I don't watch my diet - but I'll lose as soon as I start to seriously calorie count. And make sure I have protien with every meal, clean eating (NO processed foods, sodium in check). If you're stuck, I'd suggest adding some intervals, extending sustained cardio a few minutes at a time and REALLY watching what you eat. Actually counting calories and eating CLEAN. You can try the dailyplate.com for a good calorie counting site. Although be careful, it tends to overestimate the number of calories burned during exercise (as do most machines, especially eliptical).

What are you trying to do? Rain on everyone's parade? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yuengling is delicious. I had it visiting a friend down in North Carolina - but they don't have it at the bars up here unfortunately. I also visited the Michigan Brewing Company 2 weekends ago in Webberville. Got a tour of the facility too by the family that owns it - nice people, nice brewery. I tried about 6 beers there and my favorite by far was the Celis Grand Cru - delicious. It's got a bit of a fruity taste to it, but not overpowering. Just a damn good beer.

That pic is awesome! And thanks also to everyone for the kind comments on the wedding pics!

Ooo, I've missed a good beer discussion. First, on a sidenote, I want to write down some of these suggestions and find a good place to buy a few of them. I love trying a new brew. Now, honestly, I love all beers. IPA, Stout, Bock, Amber, Oh God, I'm drooling. I love microbrews because they have more flavor than the regular stuff (Budweiser, Miller, PBR, etc.). I will still drink the regular stuff, if it's on special or if I'm tailgating. In that case it's usually a PBR. For some good stuff I like me some Bells. Nothing feels more like summer than drinking an Oberon, barbequing and watching the Tigers game. I also enjoy a nice pint of Guinness. It almost feels like I'm drinking milk - I should probably try dunking an oreo in a Guinness sometime, I bet it would be delicious.

Couple new pics from my lovely wedding day:

Sounds wonderful! I'm freakin' sick of the cold.

I'm peeking my head in because I'm bored and work, stressing about wedding planning, and needed to get my mind off of it!

This is GREAT. Chicago is a huge market and making the Blackhawks more accessible is better for Chicago and hockey in general in terms of popularity. And I also get WGN and would love to watch more of this Toews kid in action next year.

You son of a *****. My jaw dropped. I thought "You have GOT to be kidding me." Then I scrolled down and realized what a jerk you are. Good job.

How we doing kids??? Ha ha, I'm only posting because I've done well and I'm excited about it. I'm down 5 more pounds - so that makes 8 pounds in 4 weeks - woo hoo!! The hardest thing is resisting the bad foods. I still have a cheat night on the weekend so I can booze and eat pizza - but during the week I stay away from it. Like today we get donuts on pay day and all I wanna do is stuff my face in the box - but I'm not. Grrr.
-
3 hours, 51 minutes till my weekend begins! Ya-hoo!
-
Seriously though. I went in there to read a little and got so annoyed by people complaining about Holland I had to leave.
-
Snow blows. Literally and figuratively.
-
I came into this thread feeling ok, now I'm leaving slightly disturbed . . .
-
Really?? That's crazy. Maybe I should try that the next time I'm sick. I read somewhere though that you should exercise when your feeling super sick, because your body needs all its extra energy to fight the bug. But then I read that you should exercise because it can help clear congestion. You doctors need to make up your minds!
-
I hear that! One hour, Nine minutes left of work till it's officially the weekend.
-
Do it! You've got an upcoming wedding too right? You can be like my fiance, he says he gonna get in shape for the wedding because afterwards he plans on "really letting himself go." He's kidding. I think.

Ha, there's a website or I read an article or something before about the medical basis behind the myths/truths of hangover remedy. There was some medical reason why eating eggs helped a hangover in the morning but I can't remember why . . .
