I wouldnt be surprised if Thomas doesn't end up being the #1. Fernandez isnt that hot, and Thomas is a pretty good keeper. O boy! Goalie Controversy in Boston!!! /sarcasm

Which writers? All I've heard is Smyth wants to "win"... That excited me about Detroit, but alot of other teams can "win" as well. Do you have an example or a link? As far as I'm concerned: Hasek, Bert, Markov... If not Smyth, than Jason Blake, or Dainius Zubrus... I'm not worried about another D-man.

May I ask why? Nothing personal, I was just curious as to the admiration of Cory Sarich. He had 15 assists last season, and a -6 rating. Yes he can hit, but so can a guy named Hatcher, and he didn't work out. I dont think Sarich is what we need to replace Schneider ( assuming we resign Markov).

If they did change the size of the nets, and somebody beat Gretzky's goal record the first season, ther would be a big arguement whether he deserved the record. The nets don't need to be changed, the pads could be smaller. Gary Bettman is again trying to appeal to the basketball and baseball fans, where scoring points is at a premium. Gary can't sell the game for what it is, so he's trying to entice them with high scoring.

^ Basically beat me to it... lol

Scott Stevens Award- Given to the defenseman who best examplifies the defensive aspects of his position.

I would feel indifferent either way... He's a smaller forward, however he has mid range numbers. However, It is a question whether those numbers were inflated due to Crosby. Either way, he shouldnt be someone we target, I wouldnt offer him more than 2.5...preferabbly 2....

according to eklund the wings are "up to something" LMAO
Wingsfan4life19 replied to kindlwillbegreat's topic in General
Eklund is a hockey " columnist" that writes for www.hockeybuzz.com. He has a bad reputation for coming up with these idiotic rumors which very rarely come true. -
I realize this has nothing really to do with anything, but I was wondering if anyone would like to see Dainius Zubrus as a Red Wing. I think he could be a solid 2nd line winger, and I doubt he would command very much $$. I watched a couple sabres playoff games, and he seemed to throw the body pretty well. What does everyone think? P.S. if this topic is already around, I apologize.

A little off topic... but is round 2 of the draft also televised... I was flicking through the satellite and TSN said "NHL draft" at like 4am... would that be a repeat or the second round?
-
No worries, Detroit's magic doesn't happen until about the 6th round... a 3rd round pick is gravy at this point

1)Calle Johannson (involved in Yzerman's knee injury), 2)whoever was responsible for Vlad's car accident, 3) Claude Lemieux(nuff said) 4) Jeremy Roenick (never stops talking) 5) Ottawa Senators (I don't like how their always on bikes during interviews) I tried to stray away from the obvious (exception of Lemieux)

What Current NHLers Were Influenced by Yzerman?
Wingsfan4life19 replied to BeeRYCE's topic in General
I've also heard that john madden was influenced by Stevie, especially during playoff time. -
I'm not by any means saying the Blackhawks are Cup contenders; but, let's not forget the hawks have Toews, and the 1st overall pick, add in martin havlat, samsonov, handzus, and williams, and this team isn't beginning to look half bad. If Khabibulin can play well, this team has a CHANCE to compete for a playoff spot.

Just checked Spectors, and found a little info on the Wings off season plans. Which forwards need to be resigned? Schneider is obviously one of the D, and possibly Markov, and Dom is probably the goalie... But who could we be resigning fo forwards. If noone, we'll be acquiring someone.

I found it humourous when the ducks owner ( name slips my mind) made fun of Canada because they couldnt call themselves Hockeytown anymore... Bearring in mind Canada isnt a city or town...and that a US city already holds that title... I imagine it would help if one knew the market in which they participated.

I'm not sure of the credibility of Andy Strickland. However, he does make a good point about Guerin. Just another post to get everyone talking http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=5357 The Wings are frontrunners for Forsberg along with Anaheim, San Jose and Vancouver: http://www.spectorshockey.net/ I would rather see Doan here than anyone. He's gritty, not afriad for garbage goals, and alos has a nice shot.

What about Chelly... He isnt signed... and he only wants a one yera deal? What should we offer to Chelly, and should Holland just go one year contracts with chelios from here on? -
I had a dream last night that the wings won 26-10.... It may be because I cant sleep during playoff time... or that im excited for the NFL.... either way.... im laying it down... wings win 26-10 P.S.... NO JINX

Since he did play... Anyone notcie hes using one of Pavs sticks... the one with holes in it.
-
A simple case of trying to do too much. When he did play earlier, it was like a loan, if he didnt play well he was benched, so he tried to "overplay". Now that he knows he can play well, with little repercussions, he's taken it and shone. He's beginning to realize his place on the team also. Continue the great play, Andreas.

yeah, I stayed up. it wasnt as bad a s the calgary game 6 tho... I gotta get up at like 630... but i sleep a little longer. God Bless my snooze button

I love the Western Conference, I think it is much better hockey than the East. However,( I'm not fully instructed on USA city placements) but Detroit must be rather close to farthest team east, who is still in the Western Conference. It may also take a toll on the Wings this playoff. I think they'll beat San Jose, or Vancouver (Anaheim would be Detroits best test, would be a hell of a series). Anyway, Wings have played Calgary, San Jose, (Possibly Anaheim or Vancouver), all of whom are West Coast teams. That can really bother a plyers sleep, especially at a crucial time like the playoffs. What does everyone think about Detroit moving to the Eastern Conference ( Leafs did it a couple years back{ not that im comparing us to the leafs). I think it would be good to rearrange the divisions, more fair to all teams, but not so drastically as originally mentioned b the NHL. What does everyone think? P.S. If there is already a topic on this, I apologize.

What happened to Lebda, I watched the game, but when this happened i had to leave. I only saw him getting suckered in the head. So, why does he need the crutches? Was it because of the hit on Langkow? Anyway, I hope he gets wel soon, and its nothing TOO serious. Let's hope Quincey plays well.
