I think he's hesitant to get roughing calls against him. He isn't the kind of guy who's willing to put the team down by a man for personal reasons. That being said he's not going to back down if someone rings the bell. If Perry acts like a little ***** out there I expect Ericsson to walk up and remind him who's the bigger man.

While you're right that he's not a goal scorer he's got better hands than a guy like Helm. He's more of an Eaves type of guy without the shot. Edit: to be fair his hands aren't much better than Helms... Actually it's a bit of a wash between the two, I'm just saying that it's silly to suggest Helm's more likely to score.

I don't disagree that he'd be useful in the short term, but I'm a firm believer in letting the team we have now sink or swim. Right now they're doing well with a very depleted line-up. They'll only get better once the injured players get back. Adding more AHL players isn't a long term solution since they'll just be going back down soon enough. With 3 rookie forwards, 1 rookie defenseman and 1 rookie goalie we've got our fill of guys with little to no NHL experience.

I like those lines but I'd switch Cleary for Franzen... I really like Cleary on the 3rd because of the grinding presence he provides and his ability to score with any linemates.
