Heck yeah. You can call someone's mother a dirty ***** who eats babies but don't you dare call them foreign!
-
Best answer yet.
-
Your sarcasm is pointless here given that both teams last year made it to back to back finals.
-
Yup. They beat a Wings team decimated by injuries to their best players by a single goal.
-
Damn you flu bug!

Not unlikely-- there've been confirmed H1N1 cases league wide. EDIT: I thought I heard the HNIC guys say the Edmonton dressing room had it.

If Richards isn't suspension worthy this isn't Two tiered suspensions are BULLs***. The law's the law. Enforce it or don't.

Yeah, a third pairing d-man is 3rd on the team in points and 1st amongst d-men but hey-- he's not doing well. He may have as many goals as Zetterberg and Datsyuk combined but that -3 on a .500 team makes it irrelevant. I mean aside from the both 2nd pairing d-men and his 3rd pairing partner, his +/- is the worst among our d-men! I can't believe our rookie d-man doesn't have Norris Nick's +/-! He's like totally leading the d in turnovers... wait, he's not even close. But he does make rookie mistakes, which are so rare on this team right now. Wait, their frighteningly common for everyone on the team.

JakeRyan? I guess we know where you went now.

9?!? 9? s***. There goes my time at the top

While I aplaud Crosby for standing up for himself and doing it well, as a Wings fan the last thing I want Datsyuk or Zetterberg's hands doing is hitting the faces of other players. If a guy like May hurts his hand/wrist/shoulder/face/brain fighting it sucks. If Datsyuk or Zetterberg hurt themselves fighting it's a huge blow to the organization, in some cases a crippling blow (concussions being a nagging concern that no one wants their star players to have to deal with).

When the Griffs brought him in they were 1-4 (all road games) and about to open a 5 game homestand where they wanted to turn things around. Nylander was an attempt to give the team a shot in the arm and jump start the offense. Considering they went 5-0 at home I'd say it worked.
-
He's still 100% property of the Caps. Only way I'd bring him in was if he came down on reentry waivers so we were only paying half of his laughably bloated contract.

I think you'll find that there's a big difference between "hate" and "dislike as a personality/media-entity but respect as a hockey player". People here like grouping their opponent into the category of "hater" or "blind lover" because it makes it easier for them to rationalize ignoring the points of the other side.

Crosby is average defensively. He's certainly not significantly better than Ovechkin defensively he just plays a position that's slightly more defensively demanding-- centre. To say that Crosby is considered an above average defensive player is absurd. They experiment with him on the PK and he gets a bit of PK time, yeah, but never in critical situations and no one would call Crosby one of the Pens' go-to guys on the PK. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Richards, Nash, those are complete players. Crosby is a brilliant offensive player who's not a liability in his own end. Nothing more. Crosby's not out there shutting down the other team's defensive players. I know people who picked him in the Sid/Ovi battle back in the day like to imagine this is the case just to help their wounded pride, but the fact remains that in 75% of their seasons in the league Ovechkin outshone Crosby. Crosby was better one season. This season? Ovi is still superior. Hell, Crosby isn't even an effective physical player like Ovechkin is. How can Crosby be the best player if he's not even the best player on his own team? Malkin, on the other hand, showed some defensive talent in game 7 of the finals. He was very strong out there holding the 1 goal lead.
-
Datsyuk got slew footed by Zidlicky? Or are you talking about Zetterberg? I guess you could mean Richards, if in a bit misguided way since Datsyuk is still better than him. I agree that Crosby won the fight, though. They most likely broke it up because the fight strap was off and Zidlicky was in a vulnerable spot at that point.

s***. I hope it's minor.

They're deep and talented, but like others have said they lack a game breaker (Salami was at one point, and might just be one on occasion now too). They have great goaltending, though.

Future in net currently residing in Grand Rapids
Drake_Marcus replied to Aussie_Wing's topic in General
I'm a big Larsson fan. He's the real deal. McCollum is good right now, but we haven't seen him over the course of a full pro season. He looks real impressive but he's still a kid so who knows where he'll be in the future. Like others have said-- both look like they're really promising future NHLers. -
Ericcson Likely Out Tonight With Flu-Like Symptoms
Drake_Marcus replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
Yeah, he's definitely leaps and bounds better than those two. He's also among the team leaders in points and the team leader in defensive points. -
Damn. Think we'll have a call-up tough guy for next week? UKWing will go bat s*** if they call Tardif up.
-
I think it's mostly because it's an eye injury so they're going to play it very, very carefully. You're right though-- it doesn't bode well. Get well soon May-- we'll need your grit and fists again next week.

All things considered, this 3-1 win is so much more satisfying than a 5-4 or 5-3 win. Anyone else excited to see Stevie Y talk to the HNIC guys?
