No I honestly thought I read "everwhere". I don't buy the skilled tough teams thing as being the way of the future. Nothing's changed to make the hockey landscape any more conducive to tough teams.

No one with a braincell said Williams couldn't shoot or score. He's still amazingly soft and hasn't produced in the playoffs at any time in his career.

Man-- Filppula is playing with a real jump in his step. The real test will be whether he can continue doing that through an offensive dry spell.

Get used to it. He's a Lang type of player who minimizes the energy he spends chasing the puck and just waits for opportunities to present themselves.

Did they sell out in the preseason? What is the relative difference in ticket price? How many games do football teams play vs. hockey teams?

Abdelkader does not look like a minor league player out there. He's got the skill and he's got the strength. Damn the cap and our rookie heavy roster for forcing him to wait another season in GR. Oh well, he'll be a better player for it.

It's weird that in a city in the middle of a long, severe depression people can't afford to fill an arena for a preseason game that means nothing. I mean it's not like Detroit has been a waste land economically for the last 5 years. Oh wait.

I'm really looking forward to this game-- can't wait to see Leino and Filppula's line against another (preseason)Team. I'm bummed we won't see Tatar play tonight. I'm hoping he gets a shot in some preseason games... he's already earned himself a contract at his first camp and played so well it convinced the management he need to be in a tougher league, if he can keep playing like that in a preseason game Holland's job becomes that much tougher...
